Just starting out. Glass is the easiest to practice with and to source, but you will get cut lol. There's no way around it, even if you wear gloves. Your tutorials and explanations are great!

Super glue is fantastic for closing small cuts from glass. No need for Band-Aid and the wound heals more swiftly.

I have a couple of efficacy questions, coming from an uninformed point of view. Is this genuinely much better than just using a sharp, roughly triangular shard of glass attached to an arrow? Why bother meeting the bevels in the middle? It would be thicker without, but is that such a problem? Once it's sharp it's sharp, surely you are primarily after it being sharp and adding a little weight to the front end of the arrow. I'm sure it's more consistent to have a bunch of arrows exactly the same giving more consistent flight but it also seems like this takes time not only to make one of these, but also to learn how and also opens you up to a bunch of infection risks from cuts in a survival situation.

Using glass to learn pressure flaking without wearing gloves is very dangerous. The injuries can be very real & unforgiving. Seek a pre-Neolithic approach using bone, stone , antler, horn, & wood if you are truly interested in learning Lithic Technology.

The video is great but knapping and flaking isnt so easy based on my trial. Seems good when you watch but when you translate it into action you bump into problems. My glass piece refuses to give away flakes :) Probably my tools are not the best but after some time I give up. I have reached to certain point but paused for now till next trial.

i also only use a hammer stone and ebrader. i like to hit the side of the bottle to get the bottem of the bottle.

Jay gloves do limit the dexterity and holding small pieces with then is really difficult

For everyone saying go hunting with these, NEVER. Hunt with glass arrows, unless your using obsidian, it can break off inside the animal and fracture making it very painful and not killing the animal, most places is illegal to hunt with glass arrows, you can do this with flint as well.
