hi, on a concrete foundation, can i use treated lumber for sill plate when using j bolts, and is using liquid nails ok to protect sill plate since liq nails is waterproof?

Liquid nails can be brittle and crack allowing water in.

Greg, Thank you for your video, it was very helpful. We are currently planning an addition to our house. My designer suggested building a 9-foot high second floor above the existing 8-foot first floor, with a vaulted ceiling in the loft. But I feel that once one come to the second floor, we might not want to spend time in the cramped first floor anymore. Do you have any suggestions? Also, how much would it cost to raise the first floor to nine feet as well? Would adding height increase the cost compared to not raising it? And would it compromise the structural integrity compared to the original design? If you have the time to answer my questions, I would greatly appreciate it!

I think it's a personal preference. You will need to ask a contractor in your area about cost.
