I loved Josh’s humble, charming AND classy response. I don’t get the hate. They’ve only just begun. These guys sound exactly like Greta Van Fleet is who they sound like! I love what these kids are doing. I can’t wait to see where they take this ride. God bless them. Been a while since I was actually excited by a new act. Go get em boys! His singing voice just sounds like Robert plants, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t use it. And there’s only so many blues rock riffs you can do and if that’s what they wanna play with their singer then they’re gonna sound like Led Zeplin

+Slap Boogz totally agree about GVF. There's def loads of talented millennial bands though, GVF is the one got attention cuz their parents could afford publicity & also cuz GVF is controversial for sounding too much like LZ

Anthony Sclafani I just heard about them from youtubers into the music scene. Maybe the publicity helped them find them but I feel like them sounding ridiculously like LZ was the main thing that got them to become known because it’s very interesting and people want to show others them. That’s just me tho, rock isn’t even my favorite genre at the moment but being someone who listened to classic rock for most of elementary/middle school I think they make good music and I don’t get why we need to hate. If you don’t like them don’t listen, but I feel the people going and calling them frauds and ripoffs is a bit unnessesary, and if sounding exactly like LZ was so easy I feel I would have heard of others doing it

+P.M I agree that sounding ridiculously like LZ was the main reason they got big. Having affluent parents doesn't hurt, but it's their ridiculous LZ similarity that got people to notice. I'm glad a new young band is getting attention & I think GVF has potential, but they go too far in being influenced by LZ & trying to be LZ. There's a limit. There's loads of other bands that have ripped off LZ, but I think GVF is better at it than most. I don't care that there's a LZ influence, it just bothers me that they sound, dress & act like LZ while profiting off it. I hope they find their own sound

P.M you have heard others do it. They're called cover bands.. once A cover band gets a contract, their record company doesn't tell thwm, hey keep sounding exactly like the Led Zep ban you've been covering, but change the words. They bwgin to grow their own sound as a unit. Van Cheap here just are not original

Blues may be the underlying influence much like Zeppelin, but the Zeppelin influence is much greater than they admit. The vocals, the lyrics, the cadence, the riffs... hell even the drum kit is Bonham-influenced. Good band though.

If you look for the Robert Plant's wiki page, his influences are about the same. He is just trying to avoid that "Led Zeppelin nowadays" comparision i think. He acts and sing just like Plant, there is nothing to hide in there. I find annoying that he doesn't say clear and loud that Led Zeppelin is their direct influence, but he is not hiding that well when asked about it.

Thats.. not how it works. They aren't the same person, sure they are identical in looks and in genes but their voices developed very differently. And there's also slight facial structure differences in Jakes face distinguishing him from Josh. Josh has a sharper Jaw as well. But yes, it's clear that they are identical twins there's no denying that.

Had to reply to this. Stevie Marriot (Who Robert Plant seemed to sing like) walked out of Small Faces in1968, Led Zeppelin were formed in 1968.
