I'll be honest. I actually enjoy dawntrail. Say what you will about the main character of this expansion but I do like the story as it hits a topic that always hits me hard and frankly this is the best the boss battles have ever been in the entire game. Even the non savage/EX fights have been kicking people's asses.

Dawntrail is definitely controversial,but I actually liked it.😅 Basically,it's like a better ARR.I could see it being important down the line,but its flaws are there and will be forevermore,same as ARR.

There are a multitude of reasons why ARR is objectively better than dawntrail. I never hated ARR even for a second. I LOATHE dawntrail. If dawntrail had been where ARR is now i wouldn't have made it past it.

Its crazy that people are comparing Dawntrail to Endwalker when its serving the same narrative purpose as ARR. Its way better than stormblood.

@ Wuk Lamat isn’t a mary sue. You watch her fail, struggle and then achieve. Mary sues don’t do that. Mary sues make the entire story about them, Wuk Lamat goes to other characters to learn THEIR stories. Mary Sues are loved by EVERY character in a story, Wuk Lamat gets scolded by other characters! Mary sues and woke characters don’t operate like that! This whole woke/DEI culture war killed an entire generation’s ability to think about the definition of a word rather than just flinging it around.

Lol no, ARR set the tone for the world and your role on it. Dawntrail was as much of a self contained story as the Endwalker patches. Your character doesn't change, the Scions don't change. Despite all the stupid attempts at development Wuk Lamat doesn't grow because the story goes out of its way to avoid challenging her. On the other hand, Stormblood was pretty much the climax of the war against Garlemald. Dawntrail is pretty much filler in comparison.

The story is amazing. Just handled weird. Its basically a similar build-up like shadowbringers but with the same problem they had in stormblood with 2 different closed story parts for 2 different regions.
