I’ve seen and read a lot of reviews stating this sander is terrible. The idiots posting bad reviews are trying to use this like a planner. It’s a SANDER meant to remove very small amounts at each pass. Looks like it works great when used as it should be.

Agree, you have to take light passes, sometimes I’ll run material through a couple of times before adjusting.

Very good video! And thank you for not using 3/4s of the video just showing the assembly of the stand.😊

This one is the cheapest option I could find at this size. I found a much older Craftsman 18/36 model that has reeves drive transmission to drive conveyor belt, so it does not have a separate belt motor. My biggest concern of buying this unit is the bed lifts not the head. That may be a more sturdy for the head assembly, but that means you can't have a infeed/outfeed support unless you want to adjust their height for every pass. It may not be necessary for short work.

Looks like a pretty decent machine! Drum sanders dont get a lot of love for some reason. I think people expect too much from them. They are not for removing material! They are a game changer though. I suggest some heavy backed sand paper if youre going to buy some. The stuff that comes with them is thin like toilet paper and just terrible.

3:45 Unsafe, but your review is pretty good.

Isn't there a thickness guage right under the power switch. I thought this model had a thickness guage.

There is a gauge, I don’t use it much. I just lay what I’m sanding on the table and adjust to we’re it just fits under the front bar. Once the piece starts feeding I’ll adjust the level.
