You what i like abt this video is your sincerity. I know a few balikbayans or US Filipinos who visited their homecountry complain abt the heat and the convinieces they enjoyed in the US n at times try to impress the locals with their english (just facts)🙄😁. You, you just enjoy the weather, respect the locals and even try to speak their language.

thank you for your nice video tour of the Talaptap farmers market at Bindoy, on Negros, for it reminds me of the old Carcar market on Cebu, where my late wife family lives. Carcar now has a new public market next to the new Carcar government complex, but I have not been to the new Carcar market, for it was not completed yet during my last visit in 2019. My last visit to Carcar with my late wife was in May 2019, and then covid happened in 2020, which cancelled out planned trip to Carcer in March. Then my late wife got sick in April, and passed away in June 2020, from multiple long standing heath issues. My late wife and i were married for 40 years and 5 months, and we built a small house in Southern Illinois, 2 miles from my family's farm and raised hay and a few head of cattle, and worked at an auto parts factory. In 2000-2002 we built a 2 story house in Carcar, Cebu, and we visited Carcar and her family every year until our last trip in 2019. We had planned to retire to Carcar, after i retired from my work in May 2020, but the "best laid plans of mice and men often go astray", so all i can do now is "do what i can, with what i have, where i am". However, now I no longer have the desire to retire to Carcar, without my late wife to share my retirement with, but i would still like to visit Carcar in the future. My late filipina wife and i were the same age of 25 when we were married on Molokai in 1979. My late wife's family, her daughter, from a previous marriage, and 8 grandchildren live in the house that we, mostly her, built. Someday, i hope to visit Carcar and my late wife's family again, after all of the covid restrictions or covid requirements have been lifted, for i do not want too much hassle and stress when i travel to Carcar. Anyway, i have enjoyed your videos and your opinions concerning the Philippine culture, life style and people. I have learned that when in the Philippines, we foreigners should respect their way of living, and do as the Filipino people do, with a smile on our faces, except for eating balut, of course, hehehe. In addition, i and my late wife and her family once drove from Carcar, Cebu to Dumaguette, Negros, with our 2004 toyota van, and we rode the Bato-Tampi ferry from Cebu to Negros, then took the ferry from Dumaguette to Siquijor, then the ferry from Siquijor to Cebu City. There are so many nice places to visit in the Philippines, but my late wife's hometown of Carcar and the surrounding areas are still my favorite, for that is where my late wife's family and our house are located, and where i feel "AT HOME". Oooops, sorry for my too long comment. Amping (*_*)

I always do! For me this lifestyle is perfect. Back in the states when I went to a grocery store I wouldn’t go in the isles. Good video as usual. I prefer the province as well and I agree with helping the locals vs the big chains. My Wife just arrived last night in Manila. Her Dad and Sister met her at the airport and in a few days they will fly to Tacloban. I leave July 11th and we'll come back here to the states Aug 5th. Good to hear you speaking some phrases. My Wife is from a small area of Waray speakers. She always asks if I want to know the Tagalog or Waray words. I always choose Tagalog as that's the most common language to communicate and Waray seems a lot more complicated to me. Have fun!!

in the philippines, prices vary because of supply/demand issue. thats is the only reason for any price variation in any island, in any city, or any baranggay.

People appreciate if a foreigner knows a bit of the language, so yeah I agree. A few words will make the vibe positive that quickly

I enjoy your content,, thanks for posting.. In this particular video,, I like that you notice charity clothing for sale,, support small family business' over corporate business',, and as usual you're always polite/respectful with locals.. I have visited for 2 weeks,, planning to move there,, but may I ask how you adapted to the heat.. You being from Maine, Chicago, and Boston,, at about what point did the heat no longer bother you?? I was raised in NH (neighbor) and most adult life in Germany.. thanks in advance...

Acclimatization starts after two weeks and you will see a good improvement by the first month. I have seen some people take 2-3 months but they admitted to staying inside majority of the day to avoid the temperature. So if you’re inside with air-conditioning all day, you’re not letting your body actually adjust to the change.

"Everything is cheap ... ridiculously cheap!" ... I wouldn't let vendors hear me say that. Your videos are always great, you can really tell a story with a camera. You have natural talent.
