My grandmother raised me and when we were leaving the house for a night or more we always had to do a good clean of the house because she would say, why would you take time to relax out of the home and then come home and undue all that mental relaxation because you step into a dirty home. It's very true and to know you are coming home to a welcoming and tranquil space that you are comfortable in.

I have four children, 10months old to 7 years old. I homeschool the older two. I find it is so hard to divide my attention between them and also save energy and time for my husband and then myself. I'm struggling. I pray I can get ahead and plan better so I'm less frazzled. You give me inspiration. You are amazing and so calm.

I’ve so appreciated your perspectives lately on embracing modern conveniences as part of a more old fashioned lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing when it comes to our homes…it just has to be about prioritizing the right things for your own family.

A homeschooling 'supermother' at a conference was asked " how do you keep your house so clean, tidy, and organized?" We all waited with bated breath for the magic andwer. She replied " It's really hard and you have to do it all the time". 😅😅

It always saddens me to read these kind of comments. I had 18 months of payed maternity leave and spent an extra 5 months at home with my job quaranteed to still be there when I decided to go back to work. My daughter was 27 months old when I went back to work. Love from Europe and I hope you make the best of it with the time you have at home 🙂

Unfortunately family holidays aren't always holidays for parents but your kids will have some very special memories to share. I understand that it's nice to go away but also nice to get home again. I'm a homebody so maybe that is wh I feel like that (just finished this sentence while listening and then you said that you like coming home so we have that in common). This is my second video from you channel and I'm looking forward to watching your videos. Thank you for your hard work creating these videos. 😊

I used to constantly run away from home on travels and vacation, but since becoming a homemaker and leaving my corporate job after 15 years, I find myself never wanting to leave home. It has become my sanctuary and where I feel most like me. I like having a slower, old fashioned way of living now and saying “no” has been so refreshing. My son is young, so we have not hit the social aspects of school yet, but I will be relishing these years until then.

We recently attended a weekend festival with my sister and brother-in-law, and while driving from the place we stayed to the event, we were admiring the views when my sister said, "Look at that cute little blue cottage with it's own stone chimney." I thought, that sounds like the one on Farmhouse on Boone. When I turned to look and saw a white farmhouse as well, I got really excited! By then we had driven past so l wasn't completely sure, but on the way back I saw the big white barn and the garden arbor as well ,so I knew it really was Farmhouse on Boone! It was so fun to see and really made the weekend memorable.

I love that you're converting your recipes to grams. Because I'm new to bread baking I used to not know how a dough should feel like. Exact measurements makes it easier for me but I'm quickly getting the hang of it. It's odd to me that a cup of flour is supposed to weigh only 120 grams (AP) because no matter how much I fluff the flour and scoop it just so, it always weighs much more (10-20 g more!). When a recipe calls for several cups of flour, it adds up.

I used to always let our fridge run bare before going away. But I have started actually semi-stocking it before a trip with unopened items that have good dates. I either use up or freeze any opened items. This has made returning home so much easier. This past fall, I was injured while we were away so upon returning, I couldn’t do much or drive for about a week. I was so thankful that we had plenty on hand. But it took a mind shift to make that change. Looks like a great vacation! ☺️

My relatives think I’m nuts to have anything delivered, but I work outside the house full time, pet sit for local families and don’t like shopping. I will pick up my own food, but the time it saves to have amazon or Tractor Supply pull/bring me orders allows me to enjoy taking care of my gardens, animals and loved ones.

Grocery delivery in small towns is something that’s been around basically since grocery stores were invented. You turned in a list. Or when telephones became available you phoned in the order. And there was a window of delivery time. It’s nothing new. People use to not have transportation, so the stores did delivery in order to increase business… 😊 no different that Amazon does on large scale now.

Hope you enjoyed the vacation. Time changes can be so rough with children. I had my fist experience when my daughter was 3, 12 hour flight, 8 hour timedifference. I was used to it but with her it was totally different! She didn't sleep at all and it took about 2 or 3 days to get her in a schedule again. Going East is way harder then going West in general, but it also depends on what time you have to leave/arrive. How do I know I really have become a homemaker? Watching this while I'm working at the sink prepping dinner hahaha IThough I am doing for almost 2 decades now (since I was 21) I never had the time, with university and later with health issues to really get into it. It's only been the past few years I'm trying my best to embrace it. Partly because of your channel I'm slowly getting there. So thank you Lisa. I also just use cups and tablespoons etc but using recipes from different parts of the world I known that a cup is not the same everywhere. I personally don't mind; if you use your own cup it will work most of the time but I can see that grams are universal. I love to order groceries but I only have a 3 person family, so the minimum order in euros is too high for me, so I simply go to the store that is around the corner pretty much. I do order all the cat supplies. That is so heavy, bring it to my door please.

I clean before a trip too!! I don’t want more mess than what I’m taking home. It does always feel good to be home, though🥰

Hello… I’m glad you guys had fun!! You are so lucky.. it looked like you wouldn’t have groceries delivered 😮. I live in Acton, Ca a country - living town 20 min away from the city and I don’t even get regular mail delivery😢.. love your videos . Lisa, are you expecting?

I’m a HUGE fan of your channel & recipes from the blog! I use your sourdough bread, rolls, & bagels recipe. IM SO EXCITED FOR GRAMS 😍 I personally just don’t like getting all the measuring cups dirty. Thank you for making these conversions!

You should try robe curls for your hair! Super easy and comfortable to sleep in. This homesteading mama can't be bothered to use a curling iron, robe curls is the only way I curl my hair because it's so fast lol

I’m the same as you with cooking, I like to just kinda toss stuff in and see how it turns out lol. I’m pretty good at winging it with stuff, even sourdough actually. BUT I really love using grams vs cups, after getting used to it after doing sourdough I’ve started doing it the same way as I did with cups, I’m not accurate with it, I just make sure I’m in the ballpark lol, but I prefer it to cups cuz it’s not as messy, faster to dump everything and no dishes! Especially stuff like honey that’s just messy lol!
