Growing up in a small town in New Jersey and coming from a middle-class family, Clark saw all the possibilities that life could offer. A chance meeting with a neighbor caused his world to crumble. Clark tells his story on this episode about how he was targeted, groomed, molested, and ultimately Raped by what townspeople saw as a normal average human being. Being forced to bear this burden alone Clark turned to self medication and risky behavior to numb his suffering. I am proud to call Clark my friend. NOBODY will understand the tramua of sexual abuse unless they have lived through it. I am 49 years old and i am finally coming to terms with what i endured as a small child. It's not easy but there is a way out and there is help. Thank you again Clark for another great interview.

Thank you for this podcast. I also watched Clark on SWU. These stories need to be told and shared. Victims do not need to live their whole life carrying around this unresolved trauma. Predators need to be disclosed. Period. For me, I ratted out my Papa (mom's dad) at the age of 3/4 years old. My dad beat the duck right out of him, my mother never said a word about it to me again. I was never violated again by my Papa. My dad was a big, strong man. Many people feared my father. My Papa did not look good after that beating. Over the next few years, a couple of gestures were made by other male relatives but nothing ever transpired. I basically ignored it. Showed zero interest. Vicims often feel it's their fault and are persuaded to live in complete fear of their predator. That is a complete lie we tell ourselves. I encourage you to speak up and break free of the this bondage holding you prisoner. God Bless! ❤ 🙏

I find it a bit odd that his parents would show others his scar. I would never do that. Growing up in 1970s our parents never let us just roam around. We had to be in our basement or at someone's house with a parent around. When I was about 14 is when we were allowed more freedom.

I'm here from soft white underbelly. I recall the Jerry Sandusky case. I'm not sure if I recall the Dennis Pegg case. I can understand why Clark didn't tell his dad. In 1994, I was date raped by a personal ad from a Jewish organization after a few dates. I regret not calling the police because I was afraid. I was young. I'm ok now. I just regret not calling the police. I'm sorry his teacher failed him not realizing it was odd to write about a gay man at such a young age back then
