I believe the most important part is making sure the grout is compressed into the joint with more pressure than that. Ans I'd be more careful using the colour black. It can stain the slabs unless rinsed again after application.

Hi Johnny. That went really well on a small area. We had a 12 x 10 meter Indian sandstone patio laid about 8 years ago. My builder friend suggested we use Easy joint while I suggested a traditional mix of building sand and sharp sand cement mix. Had to go with my mates decision as he was running the project. I have to say it was a massive mistake. We used around 25 tubs of this stuff at a cost of around £750-00. It lasted around 18 months before it all started to crack and come apart. Now, have a huge patio full of weeds in the joints between the slabs. Would have jointed it myself with sand/sharp and cement, but due to work commitments at the time, had to go along with this Easy joint stuff. Would steer well clear of this stuff on the future as a complete waste of money. And yes, the instructions were rigidly adhered to. That's a re-pointing job for me when I retire in a couple of months.

Not good mate, I would not use it no more, some of the two part ones are ok but that sounds an expensive project. If I ever have used it I pack it down really hard so it’s compact almost like the small sample blocks over the counter. Be safe mate thanks for your feedback

Nice job Johnny. I like the meandering split between paving and block work. And aye, that jointing is really quick to point than a wet point. It gives a good finished look too,I think. Keep up the good work, mate.

HI J.B the easyjoint slurry mix looks a better finish, but i guess it isnt permeable?,i can see why contractors like this dry mix though as its quicker than slurry grouting, but think customers should be given the choice as the 2 finishes are poles apart.

would you recommend using this product on the smaller pavers behind the section you did? There joint space is a little smaller then the section you did.

Used easyjoint for our new patio that was layed just 6 months ago. Noticed now we've got green algae growing all over the joints. I know we've had a lot of rain but surely this isn't normal for the joints to be covered with green algae after only 6 months?

Hi Johnny I've just recently used the JOINT IT brush in grout on my patio. I followed all the steps on how to install the product and when installing it I compacted the joint by pushing my bolster into the joint then running over it with my jointing iron to make sure that it was full. 6It's been about a couple of months or so since using it. Some areas have gone hard but some areas haven't and when it rains I've noticed that the water is getting in the joint and pushing the grout up. What's the best thing I could do? Thanks mate

I used geo fix before this have done for years tryed this product this week not 💯 taken by it this video makes it look easy but when you read and watch easy joint page it’s nothing like what you have done they soak the flags and the pointing and then brush it in. The pointing has to be like a slurry mix they say and it’s so hard to keep on top of it you way looks easy🤔😕

@@GreentopLandscapes what would you say is a better product now days then? I just a few months ago had porcelain slabs installed by a professional and they used this easy joint stuff. Quite a lot of miss appeared within weeks so I use a moss killer. It’s done the trick but there are some areas where the easy joint has come away completely or just worn down so I’m considering do I get more of it and do it or do I use something else to repair? It will have to be black to match what I’ve got already as I don’t wanna take it all out

@@GreentopLandscapes also one thing I have noticed is just within a couple of months since I had my garden installed the porcelain slabs are starting to become uneven with each other. Not sure why. The garden people installed the correct base (type one etc). We have had a lot of rain recently so wondering whether the ground has been getting soaked below the slabs due to water migrating through the east joint? Have you heard of this before? Thanks

I have haad to re point again after this rubbish was used . Best use old traditional method 4;1 ratio sand ,cement semi dry mix with SBR added to mortar . Just need a dry day and a good compacted sub base and no dot and dabbers always a full bed under slabs with a coating of adhesive pva before you lay the slab .Old time and tested method is best .Seen my patios I laid 15 years ago still sound and weathered well .

@@GreentopLandscapes GOOD QUALITY PVA ,with SBR. Trust me it doesn't, fairy liquid does thats for sure .Would you use Fairy as a plasticizer in brickwork . The mortar breaks down after a while and goes to dust ,it has the same effect on patios . Thats what I found out from a structural engineer when a cowboy builder I worked for told me to use it instead of plasticizer or Lime .

@@GreentopLandscapes oh I guess I'll start using fairy then in the mix .Been fucking patios up for the last 28 years . Built lots of houses using my old tried and tested method ,should have been using fairy all along . Always Lime or plasticizer, I'll never change .Pva or sbr for slabs and pointing none of this easy fill or such like, has not been around long enough for me to see how it weather's after 20 years or so . Prefer to build things that are tried and tested after 100s of years .I'm very much a traditional and stubborn builder /Bricklayer. Good luck using fairy ,
