My buddy has one that he got from Hawaii. It was a small plant. He put it in the grown and full sun thing if super big and healthy. We stay in south California. He stays right by the beach. The sun hits his all day. I got few cuts off his. They are starting to take off. He doesn't do nothing to his.

Jeff, thank you for your hard work. Your videos have been a God send! Being from Orlando Florida myself (zone 9b) I've played around with what I can get away with here in Sacramento, also zone 9b. Thank you again for sharing your experience and experiments!

Great tip on protecting bare trucks and branches. Not ideal to stress our plants with burns. That said, I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the differences in timing or amount of new growth on your plumerias though. I’m in zone 10a and I have all of my plumerias in full sun. Different varieties tend to sprout new growth and flowers as well as drop leaves at different times. Just wanted to comments because my impression at the beginning of your video was that the shade or lack of burn was playing a role in the new growth? Not saying it isn’t possible but it could just be the difference in variety. Keep videos coming and here is two a bountiful 2022!

LOl, I need to be more clear, sorry. What happened is that leaves just dropped , leaving the bare trunk, which seems to be why they are getting sunburned

What time of year can these be propagated? Mine is a single stalk with three growths at the top and I’m itching to cut it. But it’s pretty tall and I’m scared 😳 I’m preparing to move plants in for the winter and would like to go ahead and propagate my plumeria now 😊 what say you? Yes or no. O im in South Louisiana where the heat is unmerciful. We only have three months of really cold temps and those can be sparse. November/December is usually warm mostly but can surprise you with a freeze it sneaks up on you and then your doomed. So that’s why im working on it now.

Hi Penny, Its hard to say without seeing the plant and your microclimates. But i wait till when it warms in spring to cut em back.

Spring has sprung ! In January ! 😱😱😱 I wish, but not in the UK 🤪🤪

Lol, yea while our Dec /Jan daytime temps are in the 50’s, we are generally in the 60’s /70’s in Feb . Strange, but our spring started the first week in jan this year as our Jan high temps averaged 61f. We are still in the upper 30’s at night but the afternoon sunshine sure feels good.

Was that a mango behind you? If I had more space I'd grow a mango. How is your beccariophoenix alfredii doing? I really love those palms.

@@TropicalGardenGuy Nice, I'm looking forward to it. I'd like to also try parajubaea torallyi v. torallyvi. I'm in Palm Springs. My beccariophoenix alfredii is doing great. Oddly it seems wider than tall. Yours seemed pretty tall.

That may be because I prune the leaves off early… before they are mature as the palm is close to my walkway

@@TropicalGardenGuy LOL I inconvenience myself (and others) before I cut any leaves off my palms. I treat them like royalty.

Zero root rot on any of my plumerias. I think it’s the sul po mag I use. Along with cutting back on water in October
