I live in a very small state in Brazil and there's this HUGE lebanese community. There are other arab descendant groups here (syrian and iraqian mostly), but the lebanese are the most numerous. When I was in school at least half of my classmates had arab last names. And there was a kid that gave us parts of his lunch because his grandmother cooked too much. But I'm also guessing that's a latino trait hahahah

I'm originally Armenian from Syria I speak 4 languages .. Armenian, Arabic, English and Turkish and finally live in Australia!! Imagine me speaking 4 languages with 4 different classmates in my institute. like, When I speak Armenian with the Armenian friend, the other ones will stare at me asking: What happened to you suddenly, you seem like a different foreign person now !!! I answer them this one and only , no other than it : you cant blame me, i lived in 4 different cultures in one country.. and I look different in each language

My parents moved from being travelling missionaries to staying in the UK for the last twelve years. I remember when we first arrived, my parents were adjusting the the culture, working terrible jobs that were below their qualifications, getting used to the hierarchical system used by the Brits, and with a Malaysian mother and an Australian-British father, there was so much for them both to get used to. I'm in my early twenties now, and I've never ceased to wonder at how they managed to stay sane and keep providing for us through it all. My parents are without any doubt a pair of superheroes.

I visited to Lebanon last July and it was amazing. I went with some Lebanese friends and I got to know their families. So much love and so much fighting, too. But I was treated as a king, everybody was extremely kind and polite. As I don't speak Arabic there was always somebody that spoke English, French or even Greek to talk to me. People in my homeland, Brazil, have an everlasting gratitude to hard working people from Lebanon that helped built our nation.
