On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!

@@williamgorham7339 I can't think of a SINGLE front line combat aircraft that has the visibility afforded the pilot of the F-16 It's just unparalleled. And yes, the Russian planes are almost the polar opposite. I imagine it goes back to their reliance on a central control from the ground and less reliance of independent pilot initiative.

@Eric Rivera MAR is the minimum abort range, its the point at which a missile has the highest potential of killing you. Within this range even if you turn cold the missile has enough energy to still chase you down. Other people probably have a better description but if youre within that range, defeating a missle is very hard.

@@silent_fungus im a bit late to the party, but an example of the mar is for example on the deck its 10 miles, if you're closer, you can't evade missiles, you have to trick them i.e hiding(terrain masking), notching, chaffing etc, and at 30k feet its about 30 miles iirc, why? because the air is thinner higher up so the missile can go further before reaching an ineffective speed.

Yes, absolutely useful for viewers not familiar with the intricacies of the game as the speed in which you describe many procedures and functions during your videos can seem overwhelming without cues as to how you ascertain this information. Seeing the visual awareness indicator makes it much easier to comprehend!

The circle showing where you are looking is very helpful! 👍 Also wonder if any modern missiles have special loft modes specifically to defeat terrain masking? I know at high altitude and long range I've seen the 120C loft but on the deck It seems to try and fly a level path. Would be interesting if you could tell the missile to loft before pursuit so that terrain masking is less effective.

The missiles use the aircraft's Radar up until the point that they go pitbull so lofting wouldn't really make sense to avoid terrain masking. The missile only switches over to it's own radar at close ranges.

I finally got to try this game at a buddy’s house the other day. I got hit in the face with a missile while I was staring at my radar (that I don’t fully understand how to use yet) but it was a blast. Definitely getting pc now I want to get good at this game

Learning to fly/operate a fighter and shoot missiles is one thing, but learning how to evade missiles and be at an advantage in a fight is something else.... and that my friend is something that we are continuously learning from your top-notch videos :D

I really don't find the bubble to be that annoying at all, even though I already understand BVR combat pretty well and have the related cross checks down. It's just plain nice to be able to follow along with what you're looking at, without you having to verbally describe where you're looking, like some awkward CAS 9-Line! If it were up to me, you could just leave it on throughout all BVR engagements, and not worry about it any further.

I’ve been using the Tobii 5 for almost a year. I switch to TrackIR once in awhile because each has its good points. But the Tobii doesn’t go wonky when I’m rolling around my head looking at the screen limits like Track IR sometimes, and the eye tracking is great for glancing quickly around the cockpit. Dialling it in does take some time but not a lot more than Track IR.

I *really* like the eye tracking thing. Very interesting along with the commentary. Because there's a lot of stuff in the commentary that you can't say sheerly by virtue if the fact that speech takes longer than thought, and eyes are the window to thought. Very very interesting. I'd like to see more of it. The tac view does the same thing but by definition it's after the fact, and therefore coloured by a memory defecit. Anyone else? You should do a vote!

I finally made the decision to start DCs about 4 months ago after procrastinating for about 3 years. Your videos especially the depth of easy to understand info and tactics made me make the first step. I'm thoroughly enjoying it the game is such a unique experience like no other. Love your videos!! Can you do a video on how you have your Tobii set up? I had to switch back to TrackIR because I fly alot of a/g campaign stuff. When I zoom in to ground targets, my Tobii still moved at the rate it did while zoomed out, I could not even use it zoomed in because it darted around so far. When you zoom in the amount the camera moves seems to adjust to the zoom, but for me, it moves around as though the view isn't zoomed in. I can't focus on any spot on the ground. Anybody know what I need to set?

I just got the Tobii Eye tracker. Issues I've found are. If you have the screen track your eyes. Your eyes wind up chasing the screen around. Especially in zoom or trying to use the MFD's. If you choose to shut the eye tracking off? It still tracks your eyes and in zoom, Its very difficulty to hold the screen still. I went to Tobii's discord. We went through some steps and at the end. There wasn't a fix. I can see in your vid you have the same screen shake or panning around. Do you know or have a way to get the Tobii to head track only?
