Love that you time aligned the drivers and chose drivers that work together. Not enough people pay attention to time alignment.

DR, would you do more videos on center channel speakers and dialogue clarity ? Some % of users are more more focused on HT vs 2-channel music and need more attention focused on the cc vs the L/R speakers.
@jamestyrer907 Жыл бұрын
Note that you need to use the impedance of the drivers measured in the box at the crossover frequency. Those are the numerical parameters that you start with for the base filters. If you don't do that, you have no idea the Q of the filter or the pole locations. So, you don't know if it is an L-R filter or a high Q filter with complex conjugate poles that will ring.

As a radio nerd your audio videos are super interesting to me. Similar to radio in some ways, but also different in others. Killer mullet btw 😂

Please do an episode where you take a vintage speaker that you were always find if BUT you always thought it needed a lil somethin to be amazing! That would be so entertaining and it would be awesome to hear your opinions on vintage speakers in general. Thank you, Sir.

Makes me think of the Realistic minimus 7's and their famously terrible if not practically nonexistent crossover in an otherwise decently built and cheap little speaker.

Ron, yes indeed, an assembly tutorial would be necessary, as I have no woodworking skills or tools. I haven't soldered in decades, I'd just need to get a gun, and a little practice using it, but not much, otherwise, I'm good to go. Would require some advice on stands. That speaker's quite a beauty!! Thanks, Danny, these are great vids and you are a very good speaker. And a big thanks to Ron, also.

How do you select passive crossover components without calculating? Pure trial and error? What is the relative phase response of the individual speaker drivers in the crossover region with and without the crossover?

I've seen a few of these KZbin videos. I am just getting the slightest suspicion - I'm sure I am wrong - and I emphasize it is but the slightest hint of a suspicion - but guys I can't help myself, I can't help thinking that this guy might know what he is talking about.

Would this monitor be considered an open baffle type loudspeaker with the planar magnetic tweeter open to the top? If so, is it OK to have it close to a wall? Will it still sound really good?

why the picture of Enrico Fermi, a nuclear physics is this video thumbnail? nobody knows but this is in fact a good indicator of how shallow their knowledge is regarding electronics and perhaps physics!

How does a driver transduce and ultimately reproduce so many different frequencies (within its FR, of course) from many different instruments at the same time without canceling each other out or sounding muddy? That perplexes me.
