Il commence alors à faire plusieurs duos avec June Carter. Une jeune artiste qui venait du même monde musical que lui et très vite les deux vont devenir un couple sur scène et en dehors et elle va alors devoir gérée ses nombreux dérapages. Très stressé de la vie il aura plusieurs crises. Des chutes soudaine sur scène. Des disputes mentales et physiques avec sa femme et sa famille très régulièrement.
