My first commander deck was gruul power matters and xenagos and ruric thar has always been the center. Haven't played it much in the last couple years with the never ending supply of decks to build but this deck tech is a nice reminder of how much fun I used to have. It's great you don't need alot of the more expensive cards you suggest to enjoy this build. Keep up the great work!!!

I love hearing about the decision making process for each card and watching you think about what cuts to make and why. Too many deck techs just tell you a reason to play a card, not enough actually break down the pros versus the cons like you did here❤️

When I saw Gruul power matters, I totally thought it was going to be a Zilortha, Strength Incarnate/Godzilla, King of the Monsters deck.

Love the video, love creature based decks ❤ But please keep your mouse a little more calm so that the card previews can actually be read. It is not pleasant when they wander around the screen or the card changes 3x in a single second.

This is my favorite type of deck! I have a gruul power matters/combat deck, with a bunch of legendaries to swap from, but my favorite right now has got to be Karlach, Fury of Avernus + Hardy Outlander!

Perfect timing for this video. Iv just finished my first build of Deathleaper, Terror Weapon - creatures that entered the battlefield this turn have double strike. I cant belive I forgot Rishkar's expertise. Needs to go in.

Raggadragga, loves POWER, pump up the power matters mana dorks and cast a phat X spell over 8cmc and untap, +7/+7 Trample and when mana dorks atttack they get to untap and +2/+2 anthem...oh and Raggdragga is a Human Were-Boar, lets do this! I combo out quite often with this deck :P

Love this style of video. Would be great to see more like it for other themes, including a proper budget section. I'd be interested to see how you'd deal with card draw with a strict (say £2 and under a card) restriction for example. Would you go Primordial Sage/Soul of the harvest or Colossal Majesty/ Drumhunter route and the discourse around that. Either way, keep up the good work, you are appreciated.

Big fan of Momentous Fall. Hunter's Insight, Soul's Majesty and Garruk's Packleader are also great cheap ways to draw

I made a very similar deck with Karlach at the helm but it was a DRAGONS deck. SO much fun!

Couple cards worth considering in the flex slots are Tyrant Guard and Whiptongue Hydra (you essentially play no flyers)

I love Mins and Boo - but i prefere to build them a littme more focus to buff Boo :) It still power-metter for sure, but I runmore cards that add power (even old good Gigant Growth) . Generaly what i do is... T1-T2 : Ramp // T3: Minsc and Boo - put Boo 4/4 // T4: Buff Boo with spells and use him to get the EYEs of Yours enemy and Draw 10 cards :D

Definitely one way to go, going all in on MB is very powerful! I basically just use him as the main commander since he's a nice little engine with some burn/removal mixed in and he supports our big creatures well.

Gruul feels so hard to play, every time I get something out remotely threatening someone has removal for it

I came to idea of a VERY similar deck, but on extra combat theme in first place. Klauth, Radha, druid's repository, Old gnawbone etc with aggravated assault and so one and ofc enchantments that triggers at the begging of combat step, zopandrel, xenagos etc. So your video is the last push for me to sit and work on it:)
