I’ve seen a pattern with some game companies they release half a year after the trailer or during summer when students and young adults have thee we time and money to go and buy the games. You don’t think rockstar is doing that? If they did. Im sure they`ll do a PC release. It took a year and 9 months before GTA 5 came on the pc. Im pretty sure a GTA 6 PC is also in development as soon as the consoles release. Rockstar just dont have the resources to release a PC version simultaneously with the consoles. Its going to be the crown jewel, remember they have alot more room on the PC memory wise, the only issue is all the different hardware configurations. Thats why a PC release is always so late, it just takes SO much resources / people.

Its not about resources lmao. If anyone has the resources to release at all platforms its definitely R* with Take-Two. Not to mention that the game on PC is in development for long time now, its not like they will start in fall 2025 to develop the PC version, thats not how it works. The main and only reason why we have separate releases of GTA is the money. If you release it for limited audience, that can have access only through console, then you force people to buy consoles and many actually will. Then you can release the "main" version of the game for everybody and thats how you get the maximum outcome you can ever get. Its scummy marketing decision. It has nothing to do with resources.

@@ben-niej-barkii4888 The game itself is made on a PC thats true, but its made for the PS5 / Xbox architecture, its totally different than the regular PC architecture. It isnt polished like a pc game you know. SO many components / erchitectures, so many things / bugs that can happen, it takes ALOT of times to iron that out. Every single PS5 has a single graphics card, and all the PS5 architectures are exactly the same, so a console version is way easier to make than a PC version. But when it comes to a PC, every single person has a different PC setup milions and milions of pc owners, so many different hardware configurations. Gpu's Cpu's memory ssd's hdd's you name it. Its hard to explain, but thats what its boiled down to. Another thing what takes so long is Testing testing and more testing the different hardware configurations.

I think there's a chance for a trailer this summer, even a short gameplay footage. The first GTA 4 trailer looked like the game was still in early/mid development, the Gta6 trailer looks so rich and defined that i think the game is done, they are just doing adjustments and some changes due to the leaks.

As usual people don't understand the fact why they release on consoles first. Number one is because it's a system seller and incredibly valuable for Microsoft and Sony. Number 2 is they can cash out double on people buying both console and later PC version. Number 3 is a safety concern. As soon as they release the PC version the risk of code getting reverse engineered skyrockets. And this is a big issue for their online service. Think of modded accounts with infinite money and cars like in GTA V. And this could also affect the console version.

You forgot to mention that a PC release requires significantly more development time converting the code to Windows - and with console being their largest market share, it makes sense to focus the effort on a console release first, then double-dip the PC market (like you mentioned).

By the way console releases are yes less graphicaly advanced but they are way more original I have realized that RDR2 is sharper on PC but the soft lighting which was adding cinematic feature to the PS4 version was lost. Also, the quality of volumetric shadows in consoles was gone! Also, they have used more contrasty shaders in the Xbox One version which was popping up the colors but killing the overall dynamic range of colors and shades slightly in the process. So instead of PC ports, I prefer the OG console releases of Rockstar.
