GTA III: The Definitive Edition: Flying The Dodo | Rooftops Fixed?

Rockstar never really cared about adding roofs to buildings because you never see them anyway, but since people started learning how to fly the Dodo, it's become a bit of a problem. So has WDS fixed it? Let's find out!

You would think if they were so willing to go out of their way to create a backside of the hill in northern Shoreside Vale, pepper it with houses and get rid of ghost town all under the pretense that the Dodo is totally flyable, they would fill in the gaping holes in the back alleys of Staunton Island.

As far I know they only used it for the intro of GTA3 and nobody was supposed to get there. The real question is, why did the put the plain in and thinking nobody could fly it. I still can't do it

no theres no way to land the plane on the top of the donald love building but you can use the mod to teleport the claude to the top of building or using no clip mod

As a GTA 3 player, it is really not that painful, it is actually pretty relaxing if you're well practiced to be able to fly it.

Years ago I found a mod for GTA 3 which fixed the wings of dodo (it's literally in game files Rockstar just clipped it) and made flying much more easier Don't know if similar mod exist for Definitive Edition

@@OnwardToMail No it's not you dummie, look at the Mass Effect LE and at the MW2 remastered - they all fixed bugs, lags and even balance in some ways. This gta "remaster" is not even a human's work, they just put the assets into the neural network with rendered high-poly models and textures, added GTA 5 wheel for radio and weapon (WHY? IT LOOKS SO TASTLESS) and called it a day. I pirated it and i still feel like i've been robbed.

Did you know that you can fly without pressing accelerate button? It doesn't affect flight at all, Dodo will fly with the same speed.

The collision is still the same. I tried to land on it, but either you fall through the building and respawn or you get stuck in the building and can't get out.

if you really want to explore this city without mods or cheats in a helicopter, play gta liberty city stories and steal a helicopter, there's guides on how to do it and you can even keep it in your garage so you can explore the city later or use it for missions.

I'm not sure if the cranes have collisions, but since it's already hard to land the dodo perfectly in a certain place, I think it's impossible.

You can't fly the Dodo with keyboard/mouse, only with a controller.

Go to settings and see what keys are assigned to "turret up" and "turret down". Use those or assign Num 8 and Num 2 instead. - it would be much practical to use numpad arrows instead of Num9 and Num 6 which are default (in original at least).

...One would think they would had solved the whole situation with the DoDo two decades later, but no (It's not cute that they left it like that for the sake of "nostalgia", it was fundamentally broken and they dropped that exact problem onto Unreal like it was funny). This whole thing is kinda backwards on how they executed it in all honest. The game also renders like a toy, it's so toy, the way it looks kinda reminds me of the alpha and beta shots from the magazineswhen it was in development. Overall with 60USD you could go out and do something very different with the money... heck maybe even get more RAM to run the original game on a VM or a graphics card to console-emulate it. No thanks.

It wasn't broken. You wasn't supposed to ever fly it anyway. The wings as you can see are the same length as the back fins on the plane. The dodo was intentionally made this way by rockstar. GTA 3 was set to have planes but was removed due to what happened in 9/11
