Small detail note; that's not a He-man action figure; it's actually Panthro from Thundercats (21:38). Just a theory; what if Lyla's line when she tells Rocket it's been his story all along was also meant to say it was James Gunn's story all along? There were directors that told Marvel no to directing GOTG 3 because it was James Gunn's movie. So maybe Rocket passing on only to return back is supposed to symbolize James Gunn continuing to work passionately while saying goodbye to his past with Marvel? But there was one comment Mantis said got me confused since I don't think it went anywhere. Mantis called Drax dumb and then made him forget her comment during the argument between Drax, Nebula, and Mantis.
