It's a double edged sword. People complained there wasn't any stakes to the movies because no one was ever in real danger. So, they make it so a couple of them really die and people are mad about that. It's comic book movies, no one ever really dies in the comics.
@jessecortez944910 ай бұрын
And that's the issue with comic book movies being aimed at general audiences that don't read the comics. Even then, characters dying and coming back to life or different timelines versions or alternate universes or clones or cyborgs replicant, all of this becomes too much even for comic fans so it gets whipped away with retcon events. Too many retcon events and even fans get tired of keeping up and trying to stay emotional invested.

I'll give it to Vin Diesel, even though he only has three words to do it with you know exactly what Groot is trying to convey every time. He's become a bit of a caricature of himself at this point but he can act when called upon to do so. I still think his best character is Riddick. His best performance is in a movie called 'Find Me Guilty'. If you've only ever seen him in action roles this will be quite an experience. He has hair. Or a wig rather. He also put on a bunch of weight instead of just wearing a fat suit. He plays a gangster defending himself in what was the longest trial against the mob going on for 21 months (based on a true story) so the whole movie rests on his acting and he's up to the task. Check it out to see Vin in a way you'll probably never see him again.
@stonecoldku416110 ай бұрын
Nathan Fillion had a part in all three Guardians movies, although his cameo in the second was edited out. His part in the first one was that he did the voice (maybe the motion capture) for the large blue alien in the prison who had Groot's fingers shoved up his nose. Fillion also got a part in two of Guardians movies for a costar he had on his TV show Castle. The young actress who played his daughter on that show is the red headed human Ravager that. She was the one that was talking to Howard the Duck in Vol. 2. Nathan Fillion is really good friends with James Gunn, so James tries to find some part for him in every one of the movies that he makes.

Ok, she died after The Snap, but that event had nothing directly to do with her death. Same thing for Tony. He died after he eliminated Thanos' forces. I didn't approve of Gamora's complete dismissal of Peter at first either, but from HER perspective she's being told that this man who is - in her opinion - utter trash is her boyfriend. The reason she's so opposed to it is that she's actively resisting him and the idea of her being in love. Thanos os gone and instantly she's being told that she's supposed to be in love with someone else. Remember also that she KNOWS that being with Peter led to her death. Yes Thanos is the one who killed her but without meeting Peter she would NOT have given up the Soul Stone. Without Peter's influence Gamora would likely NOT have gotten closer with Nebula and Thanos would not have been able to force her to give up the Soul Stone. THIS Gamora is a much harsher, more cynical person. It's not a JUST question of not having the memories. She does not KNOW Peter at all. She never did. It's not like amnesia where she experienced them and forgot. Those memories are simply not there and never will be. Peter is trying to "make her remember" that she loves him. That is technically NOT possible because she (until the events in End Game) never so much has even SEEN Peter. When you say that him saying all those things would get you to come back...remember, Gamora was never there in the first place. Peter is trying to "win her back" when he should be trying to win her in the first place. THIS is NLOT the same person as the one he fell in love with. THAT Gamora is dead. Mulitiverses are in play here.Because IF she was the same Gamora then Thanos technically could not have killed her; Peter would STILL never have net her and he'd also have no memories of her. THAT'S the point SHE is trying to get Peter to understand.

I loved the movie, but kinda got annoyed at Peter trying to convince somebody who literally doesn't know him that she currently does when she never did... yet. It's like arresting a 10 year old because of a crime he did at 30, he wouldn't know yet.
@brucenatelee10 ай бұрын
I think the Infinity Stones are probably gone, so they won't come back to deus ex the chraracters back. I loved Infinity War and Endgame, but I get the die/come-back criticism. Iron Man, Gamora, and Black Widow had real deaths because they weren't killed by the stones. And yes, after Infinity War and Endgame, the quality has dropped a lot. The issue with killing everybody off is that Dr Strange did say there is one way to do it and what he did (give the stone away) was how to trigger it. Fair criticisms, but still fun movies. Even the bad ones had enjoyable moments even if the films were off for most.
@brucenatelee10 ай бұрын
While the criticisms are fair, it did open up some plot points to think about, like the 5 year gap leading to everybody coming back causing turmoil with socio-political issues. Younger siblings being older, homes being repossessed to somebody else, a lot of things. It's still an interesting setting to explore.

I enjoy the game more because at the end, they were still a team, together, though I am satisfied with the conclusion we got here and it's a fitting conclusion to the series if this is actually the end. As far as Quill and Gamora, I'm glad they didn't get them back together, especially with how kind of creepy Quill was being towards Gamora 2. She's a whole other person with a group of people around her/support system in the Ravagers (though she clearly doesn't recognize their voices over a transmission given the Sovereign was able to just casually get their location out of her). If this High evolutionary can make planets with all these resources, how come Thanos didn't just make more resources with the "infinity gauntlet?"
@carlgibson28510 ай бұрын
Creating more resources wouldn't work. Take Earth, for example. To increase the amount of resources, Thanos would've also had to make the planet bigger to contain those extra resources. However, increasing the size of the planet would affect it's rotation, gravity etc, and these changes would most likely render the planet inhospitable. The result would be the end of all life, not just half of it. If Thanos somehow managed to increase the resources without having to increase the size of the planets that contain those resources, it still wouldn't be a solution since the more resources a species has, the faster that species multiplies and spreads. Increasing the resources would just mean that the number of lifeforms increases too, rendering any benefit of the increased resources redundant.

I do love James Gunn’s style. He is able to write with such a mix of comedy and heart. This is a fitting ending for the Guardians and gives me some hope for the new Superman movie that Gunn is writing and directing.

The Warpig is voiced by Julie Greer. So, the Warpig sounds like Scott Lang's ex-wife.....

I have a theory that the attack rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail is Floor from an alternate dimension. Throughout the movie Floor is wearing a muzzle. Maybe she's wearing a muzzle because she can bite.

Mr. Movies, the girl you thought was Charlize Theron is actually James Gunn’s wife who was also in The Peacemaker

This was such a lovely conclusion to the GOTG trilogy. Can’t wait for James Gunn’s DC Universe! Word of advice, u both should also watch the show Peacemaker, which was created by Gunn. It follows after the events of The Suicide Squad.

Well Chris Pratt has stated that he will not return and there are no plans for Disney to continue on with the character. Kevin Feige is always doing this, first with Hemsworth where he has denied that he will be returning for a fifth Thor film and any future appearances in any other MCU films and Pratt has done the same thing saying that Feig'e's claim astonished him.

that’s what a James Gunn film gives you. Great characters, great story with emotion. This was the last of the great Marvel films now Gunn is with DC and I can’t wait for his Superman Legacy. You guys should do The Suicide Squad if you haven’t already and then Peacemaker Season 1, the girl you mistakes for Charlize and the High Evolutionary are both in that show and it’s amazing

Great reaction! One thing - if there's *any* way you can watch the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, please do so. It takes place before this movie, and that joke headline in the newspaper will make a *lot* more sense. 😆👍

I love that basically everyone in this movie gets character growth, even if it's not immediately obvious. It was an amazing end to the GotG trilogy.

I desperately hope for a good Superman movie. The current state of the comic book genre is a train struggling to stay on the rails right now.
