I clean my guns after the range. Might be overkill but that's me. My pops was old school Army Drill Sergeant and taught me that. As for lube, well known brand.

I still have my bad habit from the Army of cleaning after every range trip. I have tried to break that habit, LOL. I do change out all springs every 5k unless I am noticing a problem. Great advise.

Thank you, Mr.Langdon for speaking on this topic. I now have an authoritative source to point to when questioned why replace springs at 5K and 10K, your word carries a lot more weight.

Glad to see LTT recommends Lucas XD gun oil for their P30’s! Absolutely my favorite go-to oil, and very pleased with how resistant it is to burning off.

Solid advice 🎓🇺🇸 Like many others who have commented from military backgrounds, I am also a member of the clean after the range gang. Not so hard when you can only own one firearm ....

Thank you for the solid advice. I clean more than required. 200 -300 rounds and it’s filthy. But- I’ll follow the experts advice. If I plan to store for more than a month I’ll clean it. BTW love my Jonah’s Specter with Holosun 509T Green

I guess it's normal then to track total round count on a gun? I do a basic clean on my handguns every couple hundred rounds, or anytime I think I may be putting one away for a while, but I haven't been keeping a "total round count" log so I can currently only make a rough guess on how many rounds I have through each, but after watching this I think I should be keeping better records.

It's definitely a good idea so you can proactively replace parts before you have an issue.

Have a 2017 PX4 CC with LTT innards and a +20k round count. No stops to date but I do keep it lubed. I have weapons cleaning PTSD from my Marine Corps service. :) It looks like I need to get busy.

I clean and lube meticulously every time I get home from range. My guns function flawlessly and look great because I’m not lazy

Thanks for the info! What about a brand new gun?? You guys gunna make a LTT AR some day? That would be cool

What about using a dry lube like Hornady as I do sometimes on mags, but still want a bit of dino-juice on moving parts as I can't commit to dry. Unless it is just a few rounds, thoughts?
