I mentioned on FB how you play with a youthful heart Jon and this intro just proved my point. It was MEGA !!!!!! When I played in bands I never used much effects mainly because I couldn’t afford them. Now that I play at home I have immense fun just playing around with effects and the loop pedal. I always come back to the foot swell and some well timed echo. I could play that all day. 😂 really interesting video Jon 😃👍👍

Hi Jonathan, wow, what a great explanation of sound effects and their mark on the resultant produced sound. Like everything in life, there is a range that these work in and everything has a sweet spot. The object is to dial in and find the sweet spot without ‘muddying’ the result. Great review. I enjoyed it immensely. Cheers ✌️🎸💜

You explained it very well Jon......the thing that distracts me in church worship nowadays is the use of too much reverb and delays creating atmospheric sounds that distract from the focus upon GOD and into the focus on artificial creation using sounds , smoke and "disco' lights if I may call them.... and the worst thing is a drummer who doesn't play his time keeping drums but instead fill the whole worship song that is meant to be reverential with cymbals and full of drum chops to show off his drum skills with unnecessary fills that doesn't bring peace and calm to our hearts....what has happened to worship nowadays????? It's sad but pastors are consuming this thoughtless trend and it has become mainstay of worship in what's coming out of the West. As a professional musician could you please share your honest thoughts on this??? Thank you...🙏

Thank you joseph for you question...I'm sorry to say that I do not agree totally with what the today's worship ministries are doing. Too much emphasis on hype... Worship used to much much simpler. But sad to say , it is not so these days...

@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you Jon for your honest reply. I missed those days when worship songs had words and simple melodies that help us bring our hearts to God. I hope pastors can listen to some good advice from a Professional Christian musician like you...God Bless you Jon!🙏

A very informative video with a sensible view of the world of guitar effects. I'm older now and with a big break from playing the electric guitar. I only play at home in my mini studio and in such an obscure way. But finding your own sound is great fun, especially now that I have more free time. Maybe for beginner guitarists it is advisable to buy a guitar multi-effect or a modeling combo, try all the types of effects you mentioned, and then focus on choosing the guitar effect box itself or higher types of multi-effects. Of course, I totally agree with the process of improving my guitar playing (a big problem of mine), it's necessary. Thank you for the video and greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍🎸

Good morning Jonathan! I'm glad to hear you discussing this. I don't own any pedal effects. I don't know how to choose them, or how to arrange them. I have a Katana 2X12 100 amp that has an assortment built in. I kind of follow Angus Young's school of though. Crank up the gain...

Good for you 😊. I have the same amp 👍✌️🎸🎸
@charlesharper72928 ай бұрын
@@mikestroud9969 the amp was recommended to me by another man who has a KZbin channel. A young, quite eccentric guy from England who has a wizard's grasp on effects pedals. Also does guitar reviews. If you are interested, his name is Dave Simpson. Fun channel.

Great video. Although effects definitely have their place, I prefer the bare bones approach. Usually a little reverb and delay to create a little depth is all I want. I’ll play around with the gain a little bit, too. I will admit though, if I add some effects, it makes me play completely different., which is fun for a change of pace.

Hi Jon , I watch all your videos . I would like to know your opinion on the best way to get a good strong signal from modeling units to a mixing desk , and how much gain is needed usually at the mixer input .

Didn't you do a demo video on the Mesa Boogie V2 pre amp pedal. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was you. A while back I got one that wasnt working and was waiting on parts. So I looked up demos and believe yours was one of the first that came up. If so, do you still have it posted up? Thx.
