Nice fix! If you cannot find Glu Boost tape, 3M vinyl masking tape (Pep Boys, Trak, Princess Auto, etc.) works just as well with all CA adhesives.

I had an Epiphone V back in 1985, it took a face first hit (just tipped over face first) and it did this to the skunk stripe. Sad thing is, i have no idea what happened to that guitar, i was 15 and did a lot of stupid things with my guitars back then.

Looks good. However, what about prep w/ wax & degreaser to remove oil from hands playing on the neck? It doesn't harm the finish but assures a contamination-free surface for better adhesion. IMHO it's cheap insurance. A little buff compound next, to provide a mechanical bite for your repair material, too.

So... since you do not throw anything away .... I bet you still have a cigar box that looks like a school bus and also includes a bottle of Elmer's glue and a 24 pack of Crayola's ..... it is the only way one would still have a pair of scissors like that, lol. Cool video ole Dave - many days I wonder "how am I gonna make it today" and I glance at my (Dave's World Of Fun Stuff) sticker and my question gets answered.

You asked yourself, "Am I in the movie," and checked the camera... like 9 minutes in. Have you ever fixed an instrument, and realized too late that the camera wasn't positioned correctly?

That's not because "it took a hit". Even if she was taken a hit, that should never happen. It;s just lousy craftsmanship. Nice repair, the guys from Fender should be embarrassed.

i guess if someone was just looking for a quick fix this is alright but it really isn't the best method for this type of repair. Seriously does anyone in Canada actually know how to properly repair instruments? I have seen dozens of videos of Canadians working on guitars and other stringed instruments and i have only ever seen 1 guy who was good and actually seemed to be a qualified skilled luthier. Not trying to offend canada or its people who are awesome just appears quality instrument repair is almost none existent in your country.
