@@anthonymorales5815 Well since you mostly enjoy pop music such as Bill Eyelash or whatever her name is, Ariana Grande, Paramore etc. Why are you here commenting on a video about Tool? Tool isn't one of those bands that release songs that are instant gratification and all about the hook. Tool is more about the layers and definitely more of an acquired taste. So you don't like them, fine . But coming to a page concerning a band that you don't like and then commenting negatively on the OP @A.V.F's post, and how he/we feel that tool is more interesting that shred, accomplishes nothing more than pointing out the fact that you obviously have nothing better to do. So go listen to Paramore, and Ariana Grande since you like them enough to include them in your favorites playlist. You will not find us there hating them in the comments, we have better things to do.

Schism is so legendary, once I was warming up to play a small gig in London and I played the riff and the bouncer (a big black guy with dreads) came down from upstairs because he thought we're going to do a cover.

On first listen I was disappointed, because I expected the RAGING Tool of old, especially Maynard's raspy delivery. After several listens I came to appreciate this for what it is: Tool's version of classical music, with several movements of the same melodies. It is a brooding, circular, brutally MUSICAL Tool album...and I CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO IT. This is Tool at their most even and balanced. I LOVE IT.

In my opinion. Most people who bash this album are looking for that one song that grabs you by the tool and gives you a quick jab of shredding. They're never going to get it with this album. It's an experience. The whole album is a trip you gotta take in. Huge long rhythmic build ups. Crazy tones and intros. You'll never get that on radio edits. This one's for the die hard fan. And that's ok.
