He’s definitely a guitar treasure. His skill is outstanding

The difference between a "shredder" and John 5 is that John 5 plays melodic riffs, organized with flow all within the "shredder" world. That is skill/practice & dedication. I don't have many guitar icons but he's definitely at the top. And a super humble soul at that.
@ScoobyStrat7 ай бұрын
A fan since he was with Manson. It was John 5 that inspired me to play the guitar. I saw him with Rob Zombie open for Godsmack in 2006 and then for Ozzy a few years later. He has only gotten better over the years . And now a stint with Motley Crue? That is a career for many right there. Many more years ahead for J5. 🤟🏼

Never met a dude who is far too good to be in any of the bands he's been in. Absolute monster of a player
@tattoodude89465 ай бұрын
The thing is he is humble, and he is happy to perform with other great musicians. It is also what made him as big and well-known as he is - he worked for half the money of other session musicians, and he worked twice as fast - so everyone in the industry thought they were getting a great guitarist for a steal (and they were) but it gave him a name and a reputation. He has built on that and had a blast doing it. What else could anyone ask for - doing what you love around people you not only feel a kinship with but admire as well and a resume that is crazy eclectic and impressive beyond belief.

Yes, a virtuous playing with Rob Zombie and Marylin Manson. Motley Crue is the first band he’s played with that comes close to showcasing his ability.

This man has never been in a band that was deserving of him. His solo stuff is on another level. I admire his dedication and work ethic with the instrument. You don't become a modern day virtuoso looking for shortcuts and being lazy. What a monster!

Very creative. So many techniques in this one song. Nice melding of abstract and groove. He can shred with the best of them, but I like how he keeps it unique and interesting.

This dude just went on a whole other level. Thing that sets him apart with other shredders is that John 5 constantly seems to evolve vs repeating his ‘best of’ techniques constantly.

Such a weird mix of diatonic playing like a beginner and stuff that is completely out of the box. John 5 was an inspiration after years of studying metal licks and getting bored with “traditional” metal playing.

Im a hobbyist guitarist most of my life, since the age of about 5 when my parents got me my first guitar, a Roy Rogers guitar in the early 70s (still have a picture of me with it on xmas day) I always mostly used a pick up until about 3 or 4 years ago and recently switched over to finger picking, because my hand just won't hold onto a pick anymore, it just gets too painful and also just refuses to hold onto it.

IMHO, their 2nd album "Second Coming" is a classic. Every song is great, the musicianship is great, and the tone of each instrument is on another level!
