Golf streams are my favorite Jets I have loved them ever since the G1. so glad you're doing so well with the Gulfstream. I've got like 32 years around Gulfstream. Please keep up the great work. Love your videos. I have gotten to meet a lot of celebrities with gulfstreams. I am retired now in Sarasota Florida.

By the far the best aviation channel on KZbin. It's great to watch you guys perform in such a great aircraft. It's also cool your employer is fine with videotaping. It appears as if the segments you tape are all deadhead, but I haven't watched all of your videos. Have John give a rundown on he eventually got into the GIV. It's interesting listening to the different ways pilots get to where they're at in aviation. So many of the aviation channels are of guys flying for 5 minutes and videotaping what type of hotdog they ordered, and the ride on the way to the airport. Who cares? This is pure flying. I've watched enough of these channels to think you guys will eventually be tops of them all. This is a really interesting channel. I hope to see some approaches to minimums and maybe some talk about fuel burn, maintenance, etc. Thanks for the great videos.

The DA-20 is a great little aircraft, feels like you've been crammed into a lunchbox though. Handles really well, move up the diamond aircraft to the DA-42 and its some real good fun
@CorporatePilotLife6 жыл бұрын
Agreed...I've never flown the DA-20, but have a few hours in the DA-40, and about 300 hours in the DA-42. That thing is a great little machine.
@donc97516 жыл бұрын
Those DA Aircraft look really nice, and the DA42 must be a great aircraft to own, 4 seater if I remember. Watched sime videos of it being flown. Aft of cabin and tail remind me of gliders and the wings also but to a lessor degree. Do they have a great glide ratio? That thin little tail section is the only thing that worries me a little, I'd be a little concerned about its strength, being so tiny/thin. I'm sure the engineers have calculated the possibility of ot breaking out of the question though.

Great Vid! A memory came back to me when you started with your descent check list. The anti-ice √ is what I focused on. I couldn't help but to think about the Air Florida flight (Palm 90) crash in January 1982. Ironically this flight was destined to Ft. Lauderdale. The crew didn't have too much experience in dealing with snow & ice. One of the main contributing factors of the crash was because the pilots failed to engage the engine anti-ice system.

Hi guys! Excellent video, as always! I know people always comment about Jon smiling or talking on camera, but Jon has a great smile and laugh, not to mention a beautiful wife! I'm sure he is a lot of fun to hang out with. Be cool to see it more, better still, Imagine a nice little suprise video where Jon intros the video about the flight and says a few words, even gave his background info, Can imagine what a great response he would get to that video! Maybe it will happen some time, he strikes me as he could enjoy a good suprise for folks. His comment was funny when Shaun said just before landing winds are calm so youre probably going to screw it up to which Jon replied "ya but I'll be smiling!" was great! That was an odd little noise from foreflight st 17:05! "Sink rate, sink rate...then strange little laugh like noise!"!! Odd but funny. Question, when Jon says "we picked up a little tail wind" on final, then a moment later you said "it's going away, down to 1 knot" Is it that green arrow on the PFD that shows direction of wind that you get that info? It must be incredibly sensitive, and have you found that wind direction indicator to be very accurate? Knowing how important wind direction is when landing from my days of flying paragliders, I have always wondered how you are able to determind wind direction and speed to set up for landing. Of course I'm sure ATC knows so sets up landing direction on runways for you. Seems a sudden strong tail wind on landing would require some quick throttle work to prevent stalling... Thanks for another great video and as always, happy flying and safe flights to the crew of Presidential 69!
@CorporatePilotLife6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Don! You are correct about the arrow on the MFD being the wind direction. It is actually very accurate. The wind speed and direction is very important for the landings. We are allowed up to 10 knots of tailwind, but every little bit adds to how much runway we need to stop. On a runway that's already short like this one, we definitely prefer a good headwind.

Hey Sean can you do a Q&A with you and John if he wants on when you started flight training, how long did it take you, why you chose to become a corporate pilot over commercial, your roster if you have one, what you expected being a pilot was like vs what it’s actually like. That means to retract the flaps and stow the ground spoilers. The sudden draw on the hydraulic system for these can sometimes cause a short loss of pressure to the brakes and steering, so we always ask before doing that.

The auto-throttles go into hold mode at 60 knots, even if takeoff power isn't achieved. So we're just verifying that the power is where it should be when it goes into hold mode
