@Seasexnsun Aww, that sounds a lot like my Grisha. Except for the fearless part, because I adopted him at 10 months and the poor guy came from an abusive background, so he's got a lot of anxiety. He's just over 2 yrs old now, and we've worked really hard and he's improved a lot. But even with all of that, he still has the best temperament of any dog I've ever known! He's something special :) Anyways, there's a not terribly great video of him when we first got his sister if anyone is interested lol! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaSte2menZ6Af8U

@@wolf-jcruz583 I can imagine how that happens in rural areas, but even here in the Netherlands for example with Saarloos wolf dogs they do have the tendency to be reserved to strangers. Not aggressive or scared, they just don care. Check out 1:30 of this vid which is a perfect illustration of what I mean. I've also seen wolf dogs that are happy and spontanious so there's no such thing as "all wolf dogs are..." just that I did notice this reserved behavior for quite a lot of them.

Wow! My 1st thought. "an 80% content wolf/dog at a dog park?" Puppy or not, that's brave. But her being a puppy is most definitely a benefit to that. However, to watch her go around and sniff the others, then when she got to the other low content wolf/dog, it was like she automatically knew. As she was playing with him, she showed absolutely submission to him. Dog language is awesome to watch, but it's a lot more amplified in wolves. I hope they keep these wolf/dogs social. Really awesome video!

@@parisinthe30sx my cousin has a sheep dog with coyote in it and you can really see it in her dog. Don't know the percentage at all but it's at least enough to be noticeable. The dog is the sweetest dog I know and the only real problem is that she's hard to train. Apparently the Coyote makes it wild enough that it has problems learning but she does have the basics down that every dog needs to know so it's not impossible. I hear their is a similar issue where Wolfdogs tend to be naturally more aggressive and difficult to control due to their wolf blood.

Tuckinator inator sheep dog and coyote mix, that sounds really interesting, I bet he's cute. I've met a couple coyote mixes, mostly with German Shepherd, and they were all really sweet but timid and Sooo quiet. Youd turn around and suddenly they are right behind you. It depends on the animal of course but generally wolfdogs tend to get more timid as they age, and not very best around strangers. Mine is a sweetheart and pretty submissive (she lives where I work, at a sanctuary) the others in the pack are just as sweet but definitely have tempers. It depends, but I think wolf mixes tend to be more aggressive than coyote mixes, sorry for my English, sometimes I still have trouble

While the 'wolf' pup is beautiful (I'm always skeptical about how 'wolf' a dog really is due to people trying to pass of husky/gsd/etc crosses as them all the time though she looks like it!), I would really like to know what happens to the owners of a a lot of these puppies I see when their dogs reach sexual maturity at around the age of 2. There's reasons why some dogs don't like to play with wolfdogs, and ignore them. That's not to say ALL wolfdogs are the same, there are WAY too many variables in it and that's the problem really. You don't know what the dog will be like at all. I don't think a lot of people realize that they can't just take em to a dog park and they'll stay friendly and fine forever. Some definitely do, and get along with normal dogs their whole life (sometimes only their 'pack' and not strange dogs), others take that turn when they mature and you can only hope they're properly handled by the owner. That's why I think I've only ever seen under year old wolfdogs at dog parks, they stop bringing them after that age. Sorry, have to add to after listening to the conversation with the owner of that 'wolfdog', idk good luck with all that. lol
@eg6gsr
@eg6gsr 4 жыл бұрын
There's not that much difference to be honest. If you've ever owned a Akita or a actual working line GSD, Husky, Malamute or Rottie then you pretty much know what you're getting into with a wolf dog. All the stuff about them maturing and changing doesn't really happen when they are raised as pets but I will says the terrible 2's is very much amplified with them. They are definitely not for everyone and unless you are ready to pretty much dedicate your life to them for the first 3 years I wouldn't recommend them but once you've been owned by one there's no turning back
@solidhqx
@solidhqx 4 жыл бұрын
@@eg6gsr Don't let the Husky, Malamute or Akita's wolf like appearance fool you, there is a distinct difference. Wolves tend to avoid conflicts and situations / environments they are not used to much more than most domesticated dog breeds. They are not suited for guarding, they would avoid invaders rather than attack them and they also don't bark. They have the tendency to ignore strangers (see 01:30 of this vid, typical..). That's not said wolf hybrides can't be socialized or trained but the owner will definitely have to put more effort into socializing the puppy, meeting strangers, kids visiting public places etc. Also wolves aren't working dogs, if you see a hybrid that shows work dog behavior it's usually the result of the Husky part.
@eg6gsr

@@eg6gsr It's true they all need work to train / socialize them (as any dog should have proper training) but in my experience there is a distinct difference so 'there's not much difference' triggered me ;-) Each dog is unique though and there are always exceptions but it good to know these things if you ever plan to get one. Problem with the hybrids is that it's hard to predict which part will have the upper hand so important to be the prepared.
@ariesambully5620
@ariesambully5620 4 жыл бұрын
@@eg6gsr No by all means, if you have that kind of dedication and the means to care for a dog like that I have no issue. I can understand what you say "once you've been owned by one there's no turning back", after you see and learn to respect that beauty I'm sure you never want to go back to a normal pet dog. I'm more so just talking about how it's become a fad to have 'wolfdogs' around many places now. Most general/amateur owners can't properly handle a working line GSD or Rottie etc. either. So I guess, in a way, it's good most of them just end up with husky/GSD/malamute type mixes from shady breeders. lol I just know many dog parks already have a lot of tension around as is at times, and the last thing people need is someone trying to Figure out How to socialize their 'wolfdog' with other dogs. If they seem to really know what they're doing, eh ok, but most obviously don't and just got em cuz they're pretty. I saw a 'wolfdog' at my local park attack a medium sized mixed breed, and I could see the trouble brewing a mile away. Guess it's more so feeling out how the person can handle things rather than just going off the animals behavior.

Those wolfs really got an agressive relationship, she is the most dominant bully, but when the big guy go on her she falls flat and play the "I'm just a puppy" card. But the happiest is the back grass surfer guy, Happy birthday Winston.

How is jaw sparring agrresive or dominant bullying? Regular dogs jaw spar. Its basic doggy thing. Breed has nothing to do with it
@MrFantocan
@MrFantocan 4 жыл бұрын
@@wolf-jcruz583 It is called biting, it is to assert dominance, yes it is bulling, in human society fighting was common as well, the stronger beats the weak to show he is the boss, nowdays it is called bulling.

MrFantocan the older wolf wasn’t being malicious they are just playing
@DeeJayLilStack
@DeeJayLilStack 3 жыл бұрын
MrFantocan no, jaw sparring is entirely playful. In the wild, the alpha would assert dominance in an entirely different way. Usually, jaw sparring can bring along, groaning, growling and light barks but nothing malicious. If both dogs, or in this case, wolf dogs have relaxed bodies (tail slanted down with the tip pointing upwards) then they’re playing/relaxed. Just watch body language and learn about it, then you can tell whether it’s play or fighting.
