Mobile1 and Lucas bearing grease is what I've used for years. It works very good. An if it is harmful to breathe (which i doubt its that bad) oh well, I bet the factory air I breathe in every single day of my life is way worse.

I just watched a trainer said he switched from grease to oil because the grease made the first few rounds somewhat more sluggish due to needing warmpth to start getting slick, and grease made right tolerance ARs run slower. He also said those who use grease and don't clean often collect debris. I've also heard someone say that their buffer spring was too sluggish to run the gun properly due to a lot of near frozen grease.
@rileyneufeld70013 жыл бұрын
@@5jjt Why does he put grease in the buffer tube?! You pretty much can't put too much oil on an AR-15 to kill it (within reason). You can however put too much grease on pretty much any gun and slow the action down enough to induce a malfunction. With grease you need a TINY amount of grease on just the friction points of the gun. A dime sized amount of grease is enough to lube an AR-15 twice. It stays put so no need to slather it on everything. Grease even with debris,carbon, etc. In it is still a better lubricant than a dry gun. It may look nasty but it'll lubricate just fine when dirty. Oil the bolt/cam pin, the lower, and grease the rails.

What works well for Communists is all well and fine. Yet CLP has never let me down. A family member was in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, and was informed CLP was designed after that cluster F***. USMC still uses CLP to this day. Also push comes to shoot, I would not want to have any American patrol find anything Communist gear in my possession.

Hi guys just thought I let you know something as a mechanic. Your mobil 1 is a full synthetic , a very good oil but any full synthetic is the same but I thought I would let you know this that full synthetic transmission fluid is finer and has a higher temp control, I would be giving that a go.
@arthursmith6437 жыл бұрын
Cooper Cruse all full synthetics aren't the same. I've seen testing where Mobil One flowed the best in a -50 degrees test. It beat Amsoil.
@KW-cq4yr7 жыл бұрын
Ain’t that the truth all synthetics aren’t the same. Even though they should be close but there not. You can take 4 same type motors put 4 different brands of full synthetic drive them for a while take valve covers off and look there will be a difference even though they should be close so no there not all the same.

K W If your going for one of these products go for Ezzox. Break Free next.
@PatriotPaulUSA6 жыл бұрын
They are not all the same! But I kinda get what your saying I think. Todays synthetics are Much, Much, better oils than the regular oil dinasour oils like old original valvoline, pennsoil, etc . However ,each manufacturer uses different additive packages to their synthetic base oils. (Some examples are wear agents, viscosity agents, detergent additives, etc.) The best synthetics are Class 3 or 4 I believe. After Castrol Syntech's lawsuit in the 90's ,basically All the major oil companies are calling a lesser oil "Full synthetic" Even tho its not as good as a real old school full synthetic, which before that , I believe were class 4 hydrocracked base oil stocks ...something or other. fwiw you can look it up and see for yourself. This is mostly why, the actual best synthetic oils, cost a bit more than the "other synthetics" Like anything - You get what you pay for.

i like that large economy bottle of fireclean. funny how the entire economy bottle costs a fraction of the small bottle. i wish more companies offered a 48x amount in an economy bottle. just some quick maths. if that 48oz bottle of veg oil had the same price per oz that fireclean charges for their 2oz bottles, it would cost $336! hahahaha. $7/oz for fireclean vs $.06/oz for walmart brand fireclean.
@iluvtheblues Жыл бұрын
So how is your cold testing supposed to be valid when you state that when you brought the vegetable oil inside, it was frozen solid, but when you film everything to show the viscosity, it's flowing easily? You need to do the viscosity test OUTSIDE with all the oils at outside cold temp.
@Learningfirearms Жыл бұрын
I did that in part 2.
@jonbraddock55454 жыл бұрын
Good video but should maybe do the drip test like Project farm did on motor oils and do it outside. The problem with this is swabbing with you stirring is a human error added in and the the vegetable oil is getting the warm while its at the end of the line. Nice to see some proper cold weather testing done in MN.

And yet tons of soldiers swear by it. They even use it on artillery. And I've tried using vegetable oil. All it does it burn and make nasty smoke.

You're supposed to treat your weapon first. Whatever metal you decide to put it on, first be sure to heat it up with a heat gun or hairdryer THEN apply the stuff and let it sit.... Mop up any access. Now just use your favorite lube in high wear points in very light detail. Should last YEARS now.

Engine oil you can use for lubricating the interior parts but not good for corrosion as it doesn’t have the proper additives for it. Vegetable oil will turn to glue. If you want to lock every moving part in your gun, use vegetable oil
@dcedce29072 жыл бұрын
You don't want veggie oil to get too hot or set for 6mo as it will become polymerized and gum up the gun.

Yes, but people all over the US (Even down here in the South) deal with below freezing temps. Which means your CCW firearm, and all its oils, greases, waxes (Or whatever you choose to use) will be subject to freezing temps. And to add that, as we all know, a big ass piece of metal is going go to retain those freezing temps
@opmike3435 жыл бұрын
And the environment gets cold. Were you trying to make some kind of point?
@Dread_Naught_But_The_Dark5 жыл бұрын
I went shooting once in about 20° weather, and one of the handguns we had with us completely failed to fire at all because the lubricant used on it gelled up enough to cause light primer strikes. Guns can't get hot if they don't work to begin with.
