When you say browning more times than you say Berretta in a Berretta video! Not really sure how much value these reviews have.

You really don’t like Beretta’s do you, it’s fine to have a preference most of us do, it makes me wonder though if someone bought a gun from you would it be the gun that best suited them or the gun that best suited your sponsors.
@DWhite-el4ih

The sponsor will likely not see the gun sale and will more likely watch the review. He admitted to selling Berettas in their store. Who doesn't want to move product right? I'm sure that if someone fitted a Beretta over a Browning they would gladly take their British coin and send them out the door. I do agree that the review was somewhat one sided, however.

I own both and I gotta say there is a lot more then just the cone to compare, at the end of the day you can shoot just as good with a Stevens 555, it really comes down to quality, these guns will last you for life, and parts are everywhere, if you can’t fork 2500 buy the Stevens for 800, you can buy 3 of them for the price of one.. it really all depends on budget, let’s face it most of us ain’t going to the world Olympics for skeet, just have fun at an expense you can afford.

Hmmm... Every time the words "Beretta" or "silver pigeon" was mentioned, it was swiftly followed by "525". No mention of the 68 series design (far easier to maintain and replace parts than the 525) and no mention of the *new* Beretta silver pigeon released only a few months ago. I like the news section of your channel but your gun "reviews" have been less than helpful recently.

As an American, there’s something about this bloke I quite like. Great attitude and a sick shooter Also: Beretta 626 and Browning 525 are the two most popular O/U shotguns in the US as well. He mentions that they’re the two most popular guns in the UK so the popularity of these two platforms seems to speak volumes about their design prowess. Can’t go wrong with either IMO. Pick the one that fits you best.

Browning 525 is lower in the comb than the silver pigeon, at least the one I shot was. Think your Browning bias is showing it’s head again. Don’t know anyone who shoots a beretta that has complained about comb height.

The silver pigeon is a great gun for the money, they feel very different from a B525, especially if you have smaller hands and frame the Italian gun will likely fit better. Burly farmer rugby types are likely better with Browning.

Generalizations about fat faces isn't necessarily true. I'm 6'2", long necked, thin in the face, and the Browning comb places my eye too high. My Beretta 626 with the lower comb fits me perfectly. Cheek bone height in relationship to the eye is a great factor in fit.

Ok, so I tried a saur in 20 and I couldn't get down to a level rib, the comb was so high. The silver pigeon, I was right on about every time. They didn't have a 525 in 20 on the shelf at the time. So now that I have comb height out of the way, what else should I look for? Or should I just grab The SP and not wait for a 525 to try anyway?

I have had a Silger Pigeon for 22 years now and shot a LOT with it.. I have 5 other shotguns.. but allways chooses the Beretta Silver Pigeon when I go hunting.. I cant say enough how much I love this gun.. My son asked if he could inherit it after I die..but..I want it to follow me to the other side and have actually written into my will that I want it in the coffin ...I am sure that Browning is really good also, but I will never use anything but my Beretta Silver Pigeon 626.. I have had a RED RING sight on it for a while and with that I took down 99% of all the game I shot to.

Seems to be a lot of beretta fans on here not liking the fact he didn't call it the best gun/brand ever. Yes they are sponsored by browning but the sp is not better than a 525 they are on par with eachother mechanics wise, wood the browning absolutely nails the beretta, and fit is neither here nor there as one will fit you, the other won't. Good strong gun but 525 fits me better so it gets my vote. Too shallow for me and slimline always feel i over mount the gun with an sp and have to adjust where a 525 i can mount and be dead on

You mention the name browning more times than the word berreta and make it more of a comparison between the 686 and the 525. In your review on the 525 the word berreta isn’t said once. However I do understand that they are your sponsors and that you need to support them since they support you. Overall you have a great channel.

I live close to the Oxford Gun Company, so I took my wife and her new 20 gauge shotgun for a shooting lesson with David. Went badly - even before the lesson had started, he was dismissive of her choice of gun and just plain rude. When you mount the gun to demonstrate how low the comb is, you wedge your cheekbone to the stock. It’s remarkable that your cheekbone is nowhere near the comb when you shoot it, not only with this gun but with every gun you shoot. Looks like a reason can be found for anything.

So thats the funny bit. He enjoys side by sides and discusses at length how you must hold them nicely and shoot them properly. This includes sunk ribs, ribless, splinter forend straight wrist stocks. Yet his issue with the gun is lower rib and comb. I have a silver pigeon I but with raised comb non vent barrel 28" multichoke. I had a 525 I have a saltwood superposed I had stabilized. The 525 is not a superposed.... To me the silver pigeon is a well machined gun, the 525 was typical of japan mfg brownings. Neither are FN belgian guns. I find the 525 to be bulky but I am about 6'1 180 lbs and my silver bigeon has a high comb stock.

Have you spent much time around a clays course or a trap or skeet field? Many many people chose to rest their guns either on the recoil pad or the barrels if their standing around. And as far as safety goes, it's a break action gun. As long as the thing is open, it's safe. Take a look at how some people carry these guns over their shoulder, they're pretty much sweeping everyone in their immediate area. It's a correct way to handle these guns. Granted when they are together, unloaded or not, pointing in a safe direction is always required. I'm sure their are some videos out there explaining the correct way to handle over and under shotguns.

David please please treat the guns you handle with a bit more respect for safety, here in this video you are resting both hands on the end of the barrel! You may know its empty but others don't and you are advertising a dangerous way to handle a firearm. Secondly will you stop opening and closing the action of these guns as there is no need for this and thus it will result in extra wear to the pin hinges etc Have a count for yourself how many times you do this in this video and others you have done. Other than that your videos are very informative but please practice good gun safety and respect for the gun that you hold.

I don't think you have a clue about what you are talking about. The safest way to handle a gun is with it broken and pointed in the air. This is of course not practical in the slightest but if there were any cartridges in the broken chamber they would obey the laws of gravity and fall out. Any gun that cannot withstand 20 odd opens should be melted down for scrap ESPECIALLY guns of this price point and of this brand. ( I have a silver pigeon and so does my mate, I know what I'm on about :) )
