I know when your famous everything is yes and they never hear no or you can’t . I know thats why it’s so hard for someone who is famous to get clean. They have all kinds of drugs at their disposal any time of the day or night. I’m sure they have a drug dealer on speed dial! It’s just sad for Scott, to die so young. Big Empty is another song I love. When I hear that song I always think of Brandon Lee. That song was in the soundtrack for the Crow, the movie where Brandon Lee died. Weiland was so talented. If you read his book all the demons are revealed and it becomes clear why he chose to live the life that he did. I’ve been on a Mitch Hedburg kick lately, and Mitch died one decade before Scott in 2005. He was a heroin addict too and super talented. Mitch was a comedian, but he was compared more to a rock star, if you don’t know who he is, look him up he physically reminds me a lot of Scott. Mitch toured incessantly and lived for the road, but he also lived for drugs. Scott was the same but he also indulged to medicate his soul from his pain. I think that's what made the music back in the 90s so great. It was real emotions and real life, it was good music but we've lost too many of them. Scott dying was sad, but I personally think it was inevitable because of everything he'd been through. Saying that it was still a sad day when I heard, it's like his demons finally got him. Seeing that performance was heartbreaking, he sounded so out of it. He had such a stage presence, he was a unique individual. He will live on through his music, all of the people who have gone will always be remembered. Look at Andy Wood, he died 30 years ago but he's still loved and remembered.

That's just Howard stern. He has always been that way. I remember when he first came out, he was known to be very forward with questioning, had no respect for women, as they were objects to him. Most women who went on his show or did phone interviews knew how he was and didn't seem to mind. They kinda laughed off his sexual harrassment type of show, no other way to put it. One thing I can agree with him on, over all these years,he said publicly that he knows Chris Cornell did not kill himself suicide by hanging. Said that he knew him,.it was no secret Chris has been on his show. He said that publicly may be over the summer or something, and THEIR TRULY is ALOT surrounding Chris Cornell's death that is very questionable. I know it doesn't have anything to do with Scott, but kinda in a way may be just because well drinking and pills. Depression. Idk he just says he will never believe Chris done it. Rest in peace Chris, Scott, Kurt, Layne, Andrew Wood from MLB, and of course we can't leave out Shannon Hoone from Blind Melon. So many from that era alone, just gone too soon. I respectively will also say RIP to Chester Bennington, who was great friends with Chris Cornell, and took his life on May 18th following CC's death.. To be exact on his birthday. I guess he honestly couldn't take it, when I say RIP to all of these, I can hardly listen to any interviews or watch them without getting very emotional. While she was laying in a hospital bed. Those were some of the last words she said to me, because she died of endocarditis just hours later. She never stopped using, she wouldn't go to rehab, she just pretended she had stopped and stuck to that lie. It's fucking heartbreaking man. I have no other siblings. And I love the "grunge" era too for the music, but the celebration of the lifestyle should absolutely not be condoned. There's nothing cool or glamorous about leaving children with no mother or father. There's nothing fucking cool about dying. I feel the same way about the rampant use of codeine cough syrup in the rap community. It's liquid heroin and so much easier to consume than sticking a needle in your arm. That's the big epidemic now and people should be more concerned about more young people dying. R.I.P. to my sister Angela. I saw him on tour a year or so before STP fired him and looked great and he performed very well. I felt really happy for him thinking wow Scott is sober and is doing great. He had so many pressures both external and internal. I hate his passing and I especially hated it when people just assumed he died trying to get high when in reality he died from a mix of a his medicines and concurrent alcohol abuse. I used to work in a pharmacy and I have known a few patients die from similar instances. We would have to reach out to their doctors often especially if they had a mental health doctor and pain management doctor just to make sure they knew their patient could be on a bad mix of muscle relaxants, anxiolytics, and pain pills. Scotty was my favorite frontman, aside from Freddie Mercury. When I learned he had died, I was not at all surprised. I was heartbroken, but not surprised. In fact, I am shocked that he lived as long as he did. He was no longer the Scott Weiland we knew & loved & he hadn’t been for nearly 10 years. I suspect he suffered at least one stroke sometime during or just after the Velvet Revolver days, as well as his admission that he essentially traded in his addiction to smack for booze & he was an alcoholic in his last 10+ years. These factors, combined with the damage of decades of smoking cigarettes, crack and/or meth, as well as the assortment of prescription medications he took (Buprenorphine, some benzodiazepines, erectile dysfunction meds, and another psychiatric medication) and the cocaine- man, his body just gave up. I saw him live with STP (August 2011 in Austin Texas) & though it was a decent show, I could tell that Scott was absolutely shit faced drunk. Sad to say but true, Scott actually performed much better as a “junkie” than he ever did as a drunk. His widow gets little to no respect from me, for she was co-signing & enabling all of this shit by marrying him when he was clearly sick & not all there. Also, the fact that Jeremy (band member of The Wildabouts) died not even a year prior to Scott (of a heroin overdose), plus the coke & drinking in every city with Tommy Black (another band member), plus longtime close friend & bandmate Doug Grean distancing himself from Scott in the years prior to his death, plus his brothers in STP “firing” him- It is just too much & I feel that he was surrounded by enablers & fellow addicts, as well as tragedy & fuck ups. I will adore Scott until forever, but it is damn painful to see him as he was in the end. I prefer to remember him as he was until about 2005-2006.

Every single day Gen X was bombarded about the new thing that was going to kill us, end the world. We were all waiting for it. That desperate frustration found so many voices.
