How can I breathe correctly while I am sleeping?? I get up so fatigued, can not do anything but lie down... please. Also, I am so bloated because of the lack of proper breathing, it is unbearable... Sometimes, I stop breathing, I hold it. I realize I kind of have to breath with full consciousness at all times... but what about when I sleep?? TX

Practice correct breathing as often as you can when you are awake. Slow your breathing down and equalize it, the more you practice while awake, the more your body will relax and be trained. As for sleeping, that is when your autonomic breathing happens.

I remember someone telling me after practicing correct breathing after a period of time you train yourself to breath that way all the time. Therefore, I'd say since you trained it to work that way during the day it will automatically work that way at night. Now if you have COPD or other illness things may be different for you. I'm no Dr. but working on the posture and practicing it could not hurt you. R u on a C-PAP at night?

I also wanted to tell you...I was very depressed for years. I laid on my couch for years. The longer I laid there the more I smoked and the sicker I got. I finally made a decision that I wanted to feel better. I wanted some of my youth back. I literally had a battle in my head but I made myself get up and start walking my dog just to the turn a round where I live and back home. It wore me out but I kept doing it every day and then sometimes twice a day. Now I'm not sure of my distance but I'd say I'm walking a mile now. it not only helps your muscles it helps your breathing, big stress relief, pain relief, DEPRESSION and when I get home I have energy to clean my house and don't feel mad or sick or depressed anymore. I occasionally have negative feelings but I have the choice to change those too. I truly wish you the very best. When that little voice says no now you might make yourself sick or it's not gonna do anything for you...You tell that voice to shut up that you r sick of being sick and your the only one that can decide to do some positive things for yourself. Honey.,......U DESERVE TO FEEL WONDERFUL!!!!!

Yes, that is a good way to practice, but then also it is important to practice this sitting up or standing to strengthen the abdominal muscles and diaphragm to breath better in general.

Nice video but I disagree with your in and out process. I noticed you breathed in and out through your nose. I believe proper breathing requires breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Proper breathing is not for improving your posture, proper posture is for improving your breathing. Focus on good posture and deep breathing is natural and automatic. Peace

That was my question also. I've always heard the same while walking, running or exercising. U blow out all the little bad stuff in your body out your mouth. That's what I was taught. lol
