Fun fact: Despite their quite scary looks, Sphinx cats are really loving and friendly, They like to snuggle up with you specially in the winter to get warmed up and hang out with their best friend. So I recommend a Sphinx cat :)

To anyone wondering, he actually has to give him a bath regularly. Hairless cats are the one type of cat that needs to be bathed because they don't feel the need to wash themselves and can get really greasy really quickly. That can lead to skin conditions.

I thought the same thing when his girlfriend (or wife) said maybe he didn't need to give him a bath. It's awesome that he clearly researched and knew that he had to find a way. This is the reason I wouldn't have a sphinx, I think they are beautiful and smart, but I don't have the energy to keep them clean. It's a commitment.

Yes, you have to bathe Sphynx's regularly. The oils on their skins can actually cause a lot of acne and other health issues if it's allowed to build up. I give mine a bath every week or every other week, depending on how gross she is.

they do bathe themselves but its important to clean still as they produce a lot of oils. especially the ears need to be cleaned theres a huuuge buildup in there, maybe bathe it once every two weeks or so, personally i have 2 and we usually just clean the ears and nails and for the rest of the body we use a simple wet cloth or baby wipes

To clarify why he bathes him: sphinx cats can get really greasy. Cats produce natural body oils that moisturize their fur, but sphinx cats lack the fur, and their skin gets oily. They usually needs regular baths. The reason Dobby loves to snuggle under his shirt is because sphinx cats can't regulate their body temp very well, and they LOVE to cuddle up to get warm. This guy is very large and probably produces body heat like a oven. Perfect for a chilly little kitty.

He's like a plucked chicken, I must have one. I just lost my cat who was the best cuddle buddy ever. His personality was more like a dog. He loved people and even if you didn't like cats, he'd make you love him. He was very affectionate; our daily routine was filled will these types of moments. I thought I'd never find another cat like him; it seems like this breed is similar in temperament. Now to convince my girlfriend who has an "E.T." (the movie) phobia, this is the cat we need!
