This is very sad. I never knew that this side of the country existed (terrible squatters condition). It was also upsetting to watch the guy going down in the canal but he stood up to the government. Some parts of the country seems to be much worse than when my parents lived there 75 years ago.

What a poor solution? Giving them money would only cause more squatting and living under the same conditions somewhere else. Why don't the government build proper houses in a proper housing development with better conditions like they do in other countries for poor people. What an easy way out. I guess some of them were happy in the end because conditions were much better than where they lived before. Where are the washrooms, etc.? This is just a band aid solution. No wonder these type of people try to get into the neighboring islands illegally, and sometimes find themselves living under similar conditions because of their financial situation. I thank God everyday for what he has given me.

Mr.Jagdeo, seems to be dedicated to his people off course he is not god and he can't fix all the problems in one term.
