This video and recipe were great! I have a question though: my first few pholourie were round like yours but as I kept going they cooked flat. What did I do wrong? Thanks so much!

I will try this method. All lot of other versions have split pea powders, don't have that but plenty of dried split peas.

Can you over soak the split peas?

I wouldn't recommend soaking it for longer than 12 hours. You can strain it and keep it in the fridge until you're ready to use it.

You should be focusing on doing AFRO GUYANESE cuisine. These indians have taken the space of the AFRICAN CARRIBEAN cuisine all over guyana and Trinidad and it is annoying.

Well if you don't agree with what I'm sharing and feel so strongly about the topic, feel free to start your own channel and post what you would like to see. This is MY SPACE and I'm posting the foods I grew up eating and most of my followers appreciate my recipes. Most of us grew up eating pholourie in Guyana whether we were Indian or not; so it's ok for us to eat it but not to share a recipe????

Jehan Powell I never talked about you not sharing the receipe. You afro guyanese have no culture at all. You are like sponges. You take aspect of everybody's culture except for your own. The African one.

Haïlié Sélassié I think she is from GUYANA where the culture is a pepperpot mix of cultures so she is following her GUYANESE culture. And check out her vídeo list there aren't only indo guyanese recipes there. So as she told you start your own channel and portray African recipes. You can't blame indians for YOU not posting african recipes. And if you don't post African recipes then you are as blameworthy for her not following African culture.
