Too fucking accurate!!! When I was a factory/warehouse worker I would constantly see this brand but then I started seeing college kids wear it and then skaters. Now I work at Amazon and all I see getting shipped are white/pink carhartt beanies/sweatshirts (never in my life had I seen one before). This is basically doc Martin boots, poor people wear something then celebrities wear it and then everyone wears it and it decreases in quality. Can't wait for wolverine/redwing boots to be "fashionable".
@kennethlasseter92643 жыл бұрын
This is what I've always said and then I proceed to get slammed with derision. When you actually need durable workwear for your career, it's frustrating when the price goes up but the quality goes down, but oh well, at least companies like Carhartt, Filson, Timberland, and Red Wing are making good money from the cosplay community. It kills me when you see people saying "I've had my X jacket for a million years, and it's still in perfect condition! You should buy one, because I wear it to my office job and to grab my daily Starbucks, so I can confidently attest to it's durability!".
@timsutherland40333 жыл бұрын
Probably should pay less attention to what people think and wear what the fuck you want because you want to
@kennethlasseter92643 жыл бұрын
@@timsutherland4033 And there you go. You're absolutely right to go ahead and wear "whatever the fuck you want to". That's always the defense of somebody that wears work attire or something that they don't really need. You don't see people hyping up brands like Walls, Berne, or Red Kap because they actually want to wear durable work attire casually: it's really all about that little patch on the pocket or hat. It's fine if someone wants to appear a certain way: I really don't care. What annoys me is that when it's time I need new boots or new pants for my career - what I may have bought a year or two ago is almost always not the same, causing me to have to stock up because it sucks to have to seek out new attire that I'm unfamiliar with. So, unfortunately, it seems I'm in the minority as far as the target customer base for these companies. Its a legitimate concern, and yet I've been called a hick, redneck, or blue collar, like it's an insult by the people wearing brands like Carhartt or Filson in order to appear to be those very things! So if it makes me a hick because I need them for my career, I'd gladly be a low life hick piece of shit garbage or whatever makes them feel better than a fake poser that's probably never swung a wrench or had mud on their hands.

Carhartt was never affordable really, at least not by my estimation. I've been wearing it since I was a baby and times were tough then, but if you could get 10 years out of an $80 coat, that was pretty good. the prices haven't really changed much in the last 20 years. I just bought a detroit jacket MIU brand new for $75 less than 2 years ago. Even their staple B01 pants are still under $100. Not entirely expensive but definitely not cheap either. I think you guys just like to find things to complain about.

I mean from Carhartt wip site: Carhartt Work In Progress (Carhartt WIP) forms a division of the American brand Carhartt, one of the first companies to pioneer workwear in the USA. Founded in Europe in 1989, 100 years after Hamilton Carhartt established his business in Detroit, Carhartt WIP has been carefully adapting and modifying Carhartt's core product characteristics for a different audience of consumers who value refined design and quality while still remaining true to Carhartt's brand origins. This was their goal

The only carhartt i wear is my 8 year old zip up jacket I think it might’ve been a purple-ish color at some point has all types of cuts and stains and rtv and silicone all over it. It has a company name on it i never worked for and the name tag was ripped off before i got it. I dont even know where it came from i just started wearing it

I just wore mine until it looked worn in. Doing oil changes in 10 degree weather on pavement and snow will do that lol.

Wow you sure showed them. Well at least you aren't a walking billboard for a conglomerate. Idk why anybody would wanna give any company free advertising unless they were a loser who bought into some made up ideals from the company. Why do so many old people feel betrayed from a brand that makes silly little clothes.

T Carhartt got woke. I wonder what the backlash from the loyal working people who save up for their products.

As a mechanic, it's tough shit. I Bought a jacket maybe 5 years ago and it seen some abuse, hasn't failed me yet. I would definitely buy it again as long as they keep the quality up.

I found this scrolling KZbin on the clock while wearing a Carhart FR uniform shirt and a Carhart FR jacket with our company logo. They got us Ariat FR jeans though lol.

I went in and tried ARIAT, CATERPILLAR, REDWING, RIDGECUT, WOLVERINE, TUESDAY, and TIMBERLAND. Guess what??? CARTHARTT blew ALL of them away by a mile !!!! how? like this: Instantly as soon as you slide your foot in, they feel "Insanely SUPPORTIVE" and "Insanely COMFORTABLE" at the "same time". That is the MAGIC combo, they even have ARCH SUPPORT!! which you can only get on orthopedic shoes. NOBODY comes close, and nobody tells you this about them. Bottom line is NOBODY EVEN COMES CLOSE to the CARTHARTT, they now have a customer for LIFE with me as long as they don't change.

Walls makes good work wear. It is more reasonably priced than Carhartt. And they don't fire their employees for being purebloods. !
@wthigo772 жыл бұрын
I bought a walls jacket once. Within a couple days two snaps fell apart then the zipper broke. Only wore it a few times. Not working in it either just wearing it.
