Creality cannot please everybody they’ve produced a super slick looking machine that you are able to customise to your own preference. if they had put the spool holder on the side, someone would be on here complaining that it makes the printer look bulky, and would be printing a spool holder to mount it on the back.

printed the lid extender and lid hinges from some carbon fiber i'd used to print the side mount. The hanger worked great on the hinges for me too. i should have printed the mod to relocate the sensor first, the carbon fiber got hung up feeding from the side to the back and had a do over on the lid extender, fed from the back using a dryer instead and printed without issue. Parts printed beautifully, look and function well, only had issue with hole alignment on one corner. i've ordered some nylon for the door hinges, i think that's a good call on your part, plus i want to see how the K1C prints nylon. It isn’t a problem for the spool to be on the back, it is a preference. Having hardware to mount side or back leaves it up to the end user to decide. Some people may need it mounted on the back, like me. My printers are closer together, having the spool on the side is not ideal for me, as I would only fit 3 printers on a rack, But with back mounted spool i can fit 4 printers on a the rack and i have a walkway to reach the back of my printers easily.
@saddle19405 ай бұрын
I still cannot feed the filament into my K1C easily and am tempted to feed it through the roof in a vertical loop like the old Flashforge Finders used to. The filament goes through a sharp turn just before the extruder and I'm having to push it hard to get it loading. Maybe make a large tall plastic cover for it. If it gets to that stage, I'd also move the filament sensor to the side front to make loading easy while facing it.

Glad to see another video. And love the pod cast. I have a k1 with a lot of mods including the riser. I originally used pla like you did and it started to warp after a while as I print quite a bit of abs. So I ended up reprinting the riser in ABS. So maybe you will have better luck as you used CF PLA. I might be a bit more temperature resistant. I still love the k1. Once rooted and fixing the bed and making it level it is a great printer and is now my favorite out of my 4 printers.

My number one complaint about the K1C is that the nozzle seems to get clogged easier, and when it gets clogged, half the time I can't get it unclogged. I tried raising the temp to 300 °C, poking at. it with the nozzle needle things, letting it sit in a solvent for a few days, and even just torching the entire thing with a little butane torch. The butane torch got some out, but not enough to actually unclog it. And those nozzles aren't cheap >_
