This is not a a plant to discard after the bloom dies. It will keep growing and you can have new pups grow. The throw away mentality irks me. That's why so many phal orchids are bought and thrown away.

I gave this plant to my grandmother, she enjoys living flowers more than the opulent bouquets. She is in a hospital and I fear she is on her way out. I placed it on the window, in her sight, so she can enjoy the view while looking outside the window from her bed. Im afraid... but this plant will make everything better for her, I know it. Its so nice, and she loved it, as well as I do. Im fucked tho... she cared for me for whole my life, she even teached me english language :( My early memories are with her, best parts of my youth were with her, my adult life was with her as much as it was possible... she was always there for me. Very special and strong life time relationship and its nearing its end, she was like my 2nd mother for me, who already passed away. Yes, Im crying, not sure how I will survive another part of my soul being ripped appart, this will be very hard and I know how such things destoy me already. Life aint easy pal...

what no do not throw the plant away!!!!!!! after blooming it grows 2 to 4 whole new plants from its base and they will bloom!!! you can separate them or keep it on the plant to make a very appealing bushy form.

you can leave them as long as you repot in a big pot so the roots have room or you can separate and have loads of them

@chiquitaLinita use rain or distiled water in the cup, your water may have too much salt. use 2/3rd peat soil and 1/3 sand...or orchid mix works well also

Thanks for sharing. Where indoors can I place the Guzmania, will it be okay in medium light? Do I need to water weekly in winter?

When does one replant them? Came in small cup but not sure it's big enough, also, what size? It's winter now in Southern hemisphere so don't know if that affects whether it can/should be replanted.

I water my broms with a copper watering can, is that a problem or is it just copper that is in a chemical bond with other elements/ compounds? I find it to be no problem. And this seems to be one of the only videos on this channel with actually good advice about the topic plant on the video.
