I would recommend re-jetting the carb main jet to 1 size bigger, since an egr/pair delete will slightly increase vacuum of the intake at full throttle, which draw more air from the filter.

My PAIR system was some 20 000 miles old, it was spitting black watery oily stuff (carbon particles) from that open end hose (from the canister/filter, the Benzhou YY50QT-6 has a little different setup), the engine was running poorly, mileage was poor and engine keep hesitating ('jerky' might be word in english) randomly at worsening rate. Took me some time to find out the culprit, but thanks to your excellent video, the problem was finally solved!
@Persianenzo4 ай бұрын
My sym allo has the same problem, the previous owner had a little bottle at the end of that hose to catch the oil?gas? Mixture coming out, now that bottle fell off during my last trip resulting in the whole Engine covered with that fluid. So you solved it by taking the egr system out,like in the video? I'm curious why there's a fluid coming out instead of air, so maybe I could solve it instead of removing the egr or catching up the fluid coming out.

hey bud, its me again. LOL. I figured it out. My scoot has only traveled 1980km....so roughly 1100-1200 miles, and the culprit was the vacuum line that runs from the intake to the PAIR system. It was real stiff, and had a split in it as I sat on it the split opened and of course when I got off it closed. I work on vehicle and see stiff/brittle vac lines on vehicles with high mileage just found it odd that it happened on this scoot. I bought it brand new 3 kms on it from the dealer. The PAIR system injects air into the exhaust stream to help continue burning the exiting gases and reduce emissions. There is no need to remove it from a stock scooter. The only benefit would be less stuff to go wrong or less clutter. If you install an aftermarket exhaust the PAIR system may cause popping in the exhaust. Using aftermarket cylinder heads you may not have a PAIR connection anymore so some remove the rest of the components then to get them out of the way since they can no longer function.

I was thinking maybe I can test if with the sls disconnected the smell is gone. I use the same oil in both scooters. Your method would stop the gasses at the lower left of the valve cover. ID say that if I only disconnect the vacuum hose that activates the membrane, my gasses would run from lower left side of valvehead through the hose and stop at the sls mounting on the frame where the membrane / 'pump' is located. This way no recycling these gasses through my airbox adn maybe a bit less smell. Id think and hope its no problem to have the gasses run and stop at the unit there.

If you do it all like the vid and have the same setup, there should be nothing else to deal with around the valve. You can keep the vacuum pump. Just make sure there are no Ts or junctions where a leak is created by removing other vacuum accessories. Can run a hose direct from the intake to the pump to simplify in most cases. If it's a pump, you need to keep it. If it's a petcock, you can swap for manual and plug off the vacuum source if you'd like.

@@49ccscoot Thank you for replying so fast, I have a kymco agility 4 stroke the fuel tank is lower than the engine it seems my fuel line comes up from my tank, to a fuel filter , to a one way valve and into the vacume petcock, I took the external fuel line, (going to carb) off the petcock I then cranked the bike over and no fuel came out, so I presumed it's just a vacume petcock. My question is, is it possible that my bike has no fuel pump at all AND a tank lower than the engine, can the carb suck fuel itself? Either way, I bypassed the petcock and attached the fuel line directly from the fuel tank (which is lower) to the carb, and the bike ran for a few minutes before cutting out, after this it would have cranked over until the battery died, had I not re attached the fuel line to the petcock and layed the bike nearly on its side and cranked it over with no throttle for a couple minutes, I eventually got it to start and it idled horribly and kept cutting out at the slightest hint of throttle until eventually it started ticking over well enough again. I'm presuming I flooded the bike and maybe fouled the plug a little? If my bike doesn't need a fuel pump, because it ran fine for 3 minutes whilst the fuel tank was attached directly to the carb, why did it cut out? If that is the case might it be because I flooded the engine and fouled the plug slightly? I have upjetted to a 88 on a 18mm carb, instead of the factory 12mm carb with an 80 jet because I have been having issues with the bikes speed, hence why I was playing with this In the start, thank you very much for you're time. imgur.com/a/c6W3qUq

Great video! there is one thing i still dont understand, so i hope you can help me. it seems the air gets in the carter on top of the valves so to ventilate the oil. how and where is the air introduced to the exhaust gas? my 50cc gy6 has a 80cc upgrade along with a 24mm carb and a little forced air intake. it runs smooth and powerful, but with horrible backfire and i hate to see an old lady get a heart attack becaused by my moped. if this causes it, i will get rid of it asap, but is this helps cooling and ventilating the oil id rather keep it, so i need to know, how does the air reach the exhaust gasses
@49ccscoot8 жыл бұрын
Crankcase venting and PAIR systems are 2 different things. The PAIR system is for emissions and crankcase venting is necessary to avoid pressurizing the crankcase. WIth PAIR, air is introduced in the exhaust port. Backfiring could just be a lean condition or a leak near the header.
@reneaangenaam55158 жыл бұрын
ive checked again but it seems i was wrong bevore. so if im correct the hole in the head just leads to the exhaust? that whould explane why it is black on the inside (if the flow is going the wrong way). i think its purpose is to add fresh air to the exhaust gasses to burn of any remaining fuel and stop doing that on decel to prevent popping. mine was defect and adding fresh air all the time. anyway thnx man my problem is fixed !! If anybody has the problem with popping on decel either remove or replace this part shown in the video, it helped mine !!

Hi, I removed the emisions from my chinese 150 and added a uni intake, and now I having issues running properly, here is my question, from the PCV on valve cover there was 1/4 in running to the airbox, and then from the gas tank there was a second 3/16 hose, not the fuel line, running to a cannister and the cannister was hooked to the airbox, now I just have both of those hoses vented to the air, I wondering if one of them needs to be plugged, namely the one coming from the fuel tank and not the PCV, Im thinking that may be the issue, any ideas? TY so much for you videos

I have a similar system on my scoot but instead of going to open air, the tube goes to that vacuum tube assembly but the hose goes to the intake in the middle of the airbox & the carburator.. gyazo.com/bca7915b7a7f2f2b8a0ceb667112a78b The orange tubes are from the head to the intake, ignore the green vacuum tubes, but where I ringed in the thing where the vacuum goes to and the tubes, in the seam there it leaks something that seems like oil, is it like some kind of EGR valve? the exhaust doesn't have any tube that would connect to and EGR system so im kinda confused.
@49ccscoot10 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that's another variant of a PAIR system. Not sure why it would be leaking oil there. First thing would be to see if you could get that to seal by verifying that any fasteners are secure. If they're secure taking it apart and applying a thin coat of sealant like copper RTV may do the trick. Does the scooter smoke or seem to use oil?
@ErmaTheKitteh10 жыл бұрын
It does seem to use ever so slight ammount of oil but I think that was because i changed to part syntetic before the break in period was fully done or even partly done since i couldn't find conventional non-synthetic oil for a good price, i'll take a look into it, tho if i take a similar hose and jam a nut into the other end and use some kind of epoxy or similar to block that pipe, would that be bad? Also regarding the smoke, it can really only be seen when its dead cold and if you hold some black background, havn't noticed any smoke as of late, the smoking problem was when i changed the oil at about 50km into the breakin period, now it has 188km and i dont seem to notice any smoke or such, i filled the bike up with 750ml of oil and it seems to be at the top of the X's ( the top X on my dipstick is exacly 750ml)

You could remove the inlet and vacuum hoses and cap the nipples on the inlet and intake off. Then you'd just have to deal with the hose to the head. If it's like what's in the video you can see it's not tough to block off. You could probably block it with a bolt and clamp or something like that, though I'd prefer other methods.

***** Please, can you help me? Any other way to condemn the PAIR system without having to weld? Parts for PAIR are hard to find and expensive. I would only have to buy the canister and the filter. I think I found hoses, but they are expensive. Have you ever saw the exit hose of the PAIR going in front of the scooter, under the platform? Mine goes there. Tomos Nitro. Your video is very well explained, helped me out understand my problem. Thank you!

Enviromoto sells a block off plate for about $7-8 shipped, or did last I checked. I've also heard of people just installing a sheet of something solid that can hold up to heat between the existing tube and head. You could make a blockoff pretty easy with a small piece of steel and a drill.

Can you tell me how to replace forks/shocks on a taotao 50? Can't find any videos on the subject... is it much work?
@49ccscoot7 жыл бұрын
You'll need to take off the front plastics and the wheel and tire and brakes. Then if it's just the shocks that you want to replace, there are usually 2 bolts in each side to clamp them into the steering stem. Loosen those and they should slide out. You may need to loosen or remove the cap on each shock in some cases for them to come out. If it's the whole steering stem and all, then you need to get the plastics and handlebars off. You'll have to disconnect quite a bit of stuff to remove the handlebars totally. Then there are nuts at the top of the frame holding the steering stem in that have to be removed. Support the front and remove it carefully. Don't lose any bearings that are in there. Some are just loose ball bearings and some have a cage so they're easier to manage. Grease the bearings well on reassembly. Also, you must be very careful with how tight the steering stem is when you put it back together. It needs to be tight enough that there's no up and down play, but loose enough that the steering can move freely. Too tight and the steering binds and that makes it really tough and dangerous to ride. You can check out service manuals from name brand scoots (something like a Yamaha Zuma for example) and they usually go over the full procedure with a few illustrations.

@@bobfuzzy3342 In my case, it was a manufacturing flaw. A weld where the flange connected to the pipe had a pinhole in it. Just a tiny hole. I wasn't trying to make it do this. It was purely by accident, but I have to admit that I had fun with it. You can try it and see what happens, but IMO any time you're trying to make the bike shoot flames or pop you don't have the engine's health as a priority. If it doesn't work, then you have a tiny hole in the exhaust. Use this info at your own risk and so on, and of course don't blame me if you get in trouble if it works.
