In my 45 year of watching the sport I’ve never seen anything like JS259…Pure talent, raw speed, and a chip on his shoulder. I will never forget the legendary ride when he let chad pass and then dropped the hammer for repass and dominate win. That was an alpha move

Love hearing their stories from that era. And roncada, I remember seeing him race he was very competitive
@johnnyskied3 күн бұрын
Without a doubt. He did supercross quad combos that RC couldn't do on a 250.

I saw James first pro race at hangtown on the pro circuit Kawi.dude was on the next level.so much faster than anyone else. He also started the bubba scrub...game changer.

When RC dropped back to the 125 after he clinch a 250 title and beat Mike Bell's win record, that was probably the fastest I ever saw anyone ride a 125.

Only one I think could compare in a way but different era. Damon Bradshaw !!! “The Beast From The East” but James Stewart was in his own world for anyone else. But in their prime I’d go with JS7 over Bradshaw. 🤘🏻

Talking early 2000’s 125. You have to toss Jesseman into that mix. Dude was one of the few that could hang with Stewart and Reed.

Either JS7 or Jimmy Decotis Jr is something else on one to if you see the vid of him having a issue at start line and still burn the track down
@Jb-mp1in3 күн бұрын
Jimmy didn't race the 125 professionally you can't compare but Jimmy does shred a 125
@nathanmcdonald15722 күн бұрын
Lol, wtf?? Jimmy Decotis makes fun videos and all but he's not even on the same planet as guys like Stewart and RC Decotis never won a single pro race...best he ever finished was 3rd and that only happened 3 times in his career. In their primes he would get lapped by Stewart and RC on 125s
@BClassBallin2 күн бұрын
Love me some Jimmy D clips but I don't think even Jimmy D himself thinks he could hang with a prime JS259 on a 125
@d.w.richard78112 күн бұрын
@ we all know JS7 is the fastest but I think the Jimmy that rode the day he was broke on the start and came back if that guy showed up every race JS7 would’ve had a tougher time I’m all about JS7 and his kx125 I own a replica of the bike
@nathanmcdonald15722 күн бұрын
@@d.w.richard7811 no dude, you're vastly overestimating how good Decotis is/was. There's a reason he makes his living doing KZbin riding videos instead of racing. He was a mediocre pro rider that never won anything He would get absolutely smoked by Stewart. Hell, Decotis would've gotten his ass beat by Mike Brown on 125s
@DeeOhDoubleB2 күн бұрын
Dude when he was doing his thing in 2003/04/05 he was absolutely mind blowing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ2WdpKvZ9qlraMsi=mOeEQniNJifIwC6Q when this footage dropped in 04ish it was the most psycho shit anyone ever saw. When he gets cookin around 1:30 i still get goosebumps, totally groundbreaking aggression on the motorcycle. It looked like he was gonna launch into orbit.
@paulf144Күн бұрын
James Stewart Jr. is hands down the rastest to ever ride a 125. The video clips that you see don't really do his riding justice. You had to watch a SX practice or be right next to the track to see the liiiiiittle tiny things he was doing to go that fast. You had to ask yourself if you saw what you saw. And EVERY TIME I saw him race in person, especily on the 125, he would so SOMETHING that made me think "that boi ain't right in the head"...😄 I'm serious.

Why even ask such a question there has never been a young man with the ability that James had on a KX125 he totally dominated the field even when most were on 250 4 strokes just ask chad Reed he beat them all and that ability allowed James to win in the 450 class on his KX 250 just ask Ricky Carmichael who by the way was on his RM450 then Kawasaki gave James the KX450 which was a little behind in development but James was the 2 best only Ricky beat James outdoors So James is the best 125 rider ever no other rider has won championships the way he did the fastest man on the planet 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

How does an American Motocross racer becomes the WORLDS fastest when he never raced overseas in any GP or more than 1 GP ??? Amazing how American marketing works - USA is the world, NOT.
@brocshields3 күн бұрын
Don’t kid yourself. Stewart would’ve smashed the competition all the same over seas. His speed was apparent to everyone and I don’t think anyone doubted that he was one of the fastest riders to ever do it, he’s riding speaks for itself.

James gapped the field in 2003 at Budds Creek by 30 seconds the first lap, 45 the second lap and over a minute on the third in moto 1. Second moto he went from last to first. On a 125.
