I’ve been following KZbin fisherman for 10+years. Maybe made 5 or 6 comments in all those years. I’ve seen all Googan squad KZbinrs before they were KZbin famous. What I love about your channel is its authenticity. I have a big hunch that you will be the next which you deserve. Idk why your 80 pounder didn’t go viral but one video will and it’s going to change you to be a fulltime KZbinr if that’s what you want. Stay the same Hagen. Love your videos. Coming from southern Ohio.

I love that your son is such an active part of your adventures. There are many bonds in life you may attach to your childhood, but fishing (hunting too) make the deepest connections with kids because it's very knowledge based and kids love to learn. Attaboy Hagen, this is epic and a record of your life and soul with your son ... double thumbs up.

Can you make a short showing how you've got your drag set up, notice I don't hear a click or you missing alot. Do they set themselves, you let them run or what? You fish different then most & it works better. Maybe it's the waters too?

Fishing cut bait is gonna catch regardless....if you put that on a piece of wonder bread and it caught more than I might be a believer.
@benjaminwalker62472 жыл бұрын
I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but here's some a my experience. I mostly fished for flatheads in NC & SC when I was in the USAF. I've had flatheads take a hand sized live bluegill out of 4" of water right at the edge of the bank. I had a bullhead in and aquarium for 5 or 6 years. He was 3" when we put him in and 10" when we released him back into the pond we caught him out of. We had a ceramic hollow log on the bottom if the tank. He'd lay in there totally still, you could drop ai minnow, red worm or even wax worm in the opposite corner behind him, if it was.alive, his whiskers would immediately start moving and he'd come out and eat it. If it was dead it'd take him a few minutes. I believe this was his lateral line detecting the heart beat. I try to use live bait exclusively, although now that I'm retired and farming full time, I don't fish near as.much as I used to. Another trick, even though an 8/0 hook and being tied to a leader surely changes a bluegills swim "frequency", I keep a pair of kitchen shears in my bag and cut a corner if their tail off to increase their distress and let ol flattie know there's an easy meal nearby that he won't have to chase too hard. I've caught flatties on cut bait and channels & blues on panfish, I also caught a 7lb striper on a big bluegill once. I quit using stink bait when I got serious about big fish. Haven't had time to catch shad or skipjack sin e I moved back home 12 miles.from the OH river, Green up pool, but the creek I live on is full of panfish, easy to catch and keep alive.

I primary drift/drag baits on Kentucky and Barkley and been struggling to put fish in the boat at night, no issues during daytime hours and I'm definitely going to bring my baits up in the water column next time. Did yall drift the ledges or adjacent flats?
@hagengrubbsfishing2 жыл бұрын
We were fishing above a creek channel here but The main reason we fish like that on this particular lake is because it has a thermocline this time of year. It still might be worth a try on your lake when there is no current. Thanks for watching and good luck👍

Have you tried the Bait Fuel on something neutral like yarn or on a sponge? I'm curious if you take the cut bait out of the equation, that would definitely make a difference if it works or not compared to cut bait
