yep the f10 is a common one to turn into an f90 m5 and they also love the S class converting w221 to a new maybach etc. there is a channel called autobahn thailand that is very good at it. they converted a 330i G20 into a G80 M3 and its absolutely perfect looking. Also noxrd customs in domincan republic. I actually enjoy the videos even though it wouldnt make sense in america due to labor cost.

You know what gets me? It's the fact that round about 16:00 they said that they get good condition halfcut GT-Rs from Japan. That means that one day, maybe sooner than later, the world will run out of Skylines and RBs to chop up and modify, and we'll all be left with no original Skylines running around, kind of like how Silvias and other S-chassis cars are right now. That's wild.

The reason of converting base model cars is that the top trims are already very rare especially in some parts of Asia. Plus due to Tax requirements in different countries the prices doubles of the car's original price when importing them. Since there are third party or spare parts and engines of the top trims cars it is easier to import them. We also do this in Pakistan by converting Base Lancers in Evos and converting EK hatches into Type R. In Pakistan the import laws are strict since you can only import a car less than 5 years of its orignal production run. I think there are similar laws to this in other countries.

Growing up in a society with limited resources, you develop a natural understanding of how things work. It becomes second nature to figure out how something is engineered, take it apart, and put it back together. This kind of common sense might seem rare in places like the US, but for many, it's just part of daily life.

The mechanics that work at this shop make 2-3 times the amount they would make working at other normal automotive shops. They are well taken care of. It’s only “cheap” compared to US/western rates, for Thailand their hourly rate is actually crazy expensive. As far as working long hours, they step up and get the job done when needed and don’t complain, but most days they work 8 hours. -a car guy that lives in Thailand and has perspective and understands how things work here instead of a random dude on the internet making uneducated comments.

seems like a pretty honorable work place to me (bright, clean, high end work, everyone seems to love what they do...)...i think you should look up what "sweatshop" means before making accusations like that. this seems to be more cultural and passion driven. most counties in asia work MUCH harder than america (where im from) for example. korea, china, japan all have INSANE work schedules/ethics as compared to the US - and thats including working for big companies like DJI, tiktok, samsung...etc etc. "leisure" or "work life balance" is an american/canadian/european thing IMO...

Funny thing is, besides the front frame rails (easy switch from a Stagea or AWD notch kit) everything under the panels is still GT-R as they start life as a GT/GT-T anyways (same as a C6 Z06 birthed from a C6). Heck even the 2 gusset channels are still under the quarter panels sure. So it's nice to see they have the ability here given the unfortunate circumstances to make any customer's dream come true!

You can literally get the newest R35 and change or a 2022 911 GT3 instead. Im gonna sell mine and make bank but i wont buy another JDM classic when i think about what i can get instead of something 30 years old. SEA is one of the worse place for car enthusiasts with how high the import tax are in order to protect their car industry that consists of economy cars, and import prices as described in the video is exorbitant its daylight robbery considering how little infrastructure are maintained for your million dollar car even though 2/3rd of that price goes to the government. some dont even allow importing used cars so they're stuck with whatever people in the past have imported brand new jacking up the price even more. but at the same time we have a pretty lax law enforcement as well as low labor cost, so we have slightly more freedom to get creative to attain our dream cars. dont let the law break your dreams, theres always another way 🤫

I prefer to take lower trim level Hondas and add the parts i want from higher trims. My 99 civic ex has been essentially converted to type r/si. My 15 accord sport has touring parts on it and the optional oem body kit. Its great to own the original car, but building one from a lower trim is more satisfying as you can add or remove what you want with out dropping the value of the car. I still want to drop the new type r motor in my accord though lol.

Saying the chassis is the same is misleading. There are differences in the floor and chassis legs in the front. Not to mention with the 34s there is a lot of extra bracing that isn't there on the gtt

Yeah, the AWD can't really be fitted onto the GTT unless you have an enormous amount of real GTR parts

@manveerghuman5276 you can use a gtx or whatever it's called chassis but those are rare and still missing all the bracing

Is it that different from what we have always done with hotrods? In California anything that is pre-smog is being LS swapped, or Coyote swapped, or Cummins swapped.

No. You're wrong. You can't import used vehicles into Thailand anymore (as explained in the video). Also, due to taxes and import duties when you were "once" allowed to import used cars, you had to pay 300%+ on the car. A genuine GTR here fetches for nearly 20 million THB (nearly $600k usd), whereas a converted GTT to GTR is around 7-8 million THB. The only thing you are right about is they are very skilled in these conversions that you can't even tell.

Nissan should just start making the R34 again, albeit updated for modern emissions/safety requirements. There's clearly an insanely high demand for it and it will make it possible for mere mortals to have a GT-R. The Skylines depicted in this video are for people worth tens of millions of dollars. No one else can drop $500k for a car like this.

I would like to see a shop convert skylines to left-hand drive cars that look as if they came that way from the factory. I have found no videos or instruction showing the correct process...

Thank you for the video. I have known about this operation for awhile, but do not exactly know where or the name of the shop that does this. I don't really read much about stuff i can't afford. Esp not now with ridiculous JDM tax. Just 1 or 2 questions though. What about the rear quarter panels and rear wheel housings? The rest of the stuff is bolt on. Those are not.... Are the rear quarter panels and rear wheel housings (and support braces etc) new OEM parts? or from rear cuts? Or re-manufactured new in Thailand?

Not happy about GT-R’s being shipped out, but fine with real GT-R’s being cut up? Fully appreciate the level of work and care, but hypocrisy there.

bruh sometimes it's better to salvage a car for parts rather than just to let it rot. did you really think that the cut up parts came from a car that was not crashed or involved in any type of accidents?

14:22 no offense but this completely glosses over the fact that GTRs have wider rear guards. That goes for R32, R33, and R34. The rest you can arguably do with bolt-on stuff but doing the wide rear guards to the same as an R34 is the difficult part. The monocoque is just different. It's not just a case of sticking blister fenders on. And clean rear quarters aren't something you are going to get with a front cut.

200k in a fake R34 is crazy... The original ones aren't even worth that much from any metric other than sentimental value, let alone a souped up skyline coupe 2.5 25GT Turbo

In a way, the exorbitant prices are what kept many of the Skylines alive. S-chassis cars used to be affordable but many S-chassis cars have been wrecked, driven into the ground or stripped for parts over the years that it all resulted in S-chassis prices skyrocketing over the years. A clean, unmolested S13 is as rare as a multimillion dollar hypercar.

@@fredEVOIX Where is "here" even? That truck is supposed to be 55~95k and even if it was 120k it has more HP, torque, accelerates faster, the top speed is lower tho, (albeit it's limited anyway), so as I said, by any metric other than SENTIMENTAL VALUE those "R34" are overpriced, but even if they had better numbers, it's a goddamn sports car, why the hell are you comparing it to a truck? they were not built for the same thing, they not even let you go as fast as it can on this truck and cap the top speed since it' value is not on how fast it is, people buying it most likely are interested in how much it can tow, how it handles rough terrain how much it costs to maintain, etc. At least compare it to a car on the same category

I've seen used real ones for 50k. 200k is like a top model rare one in amazing mint condition. I wouldn't DREAM of paying even 50k for a fake. Id just build my own with a 50k budget and start with an 18k one. If that's the case these are purely for suckers.
