add salt if you don't have sodium lactate it works just fine (and also, a teaspoon of sugar in the water not only makes the soap bubblier (if there's such a word) but it also speeds up trace)

Does it irritate your eyes? Also are you selling the soap you’re making? Would be interested in trying a bar!

Yes, any real soap will burn your eyes. I say real soap because most of what we buy is actually detergent. I'll give you some next time I see you.

I wouldn't use this on hair especially with damaged or color-processed hair. There's so much more that goes into creating hair cleansers and nobody wants soap scum residue. But it's ok for handwashing maybe.
