This is applicable to skincare and clothing too. Women's products always cost more. So buy from the gender neutral brands instead. The Ordinary, CeraVe, Cetaphil, Aveeno, Vanicream, Dove, Versed, Naturium, Cocokind etc. They aren't specifically targeting women and keep the prices relatively low.

@@TheJoberry123 I was referring to clothing brands like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Nike, Adidas etc. I often find cheap and good quality clothing for men, while women have to pay 3X or 2X for the same quality. Men's clothing also seems functional and practical, while women's clothing is mostly fashion first.

Good for you. Pink tax is the biggest scam of all times. It's the same fugging product, whether it comes in pink, blue or white with green polka dots. I recently bought myself one of these electric foot rasps. They were on sale for 50 % off, but only the pink ones. Didn't prevent me as a male to grab the opportunity anyway. Hehe. 🙂 The replaceable grinder rolls are the same, too, no matter the handle color.

The thing that pisses me off the most is how they try to scare women away from using the men's version. I once sat for an hour comparing the two cans (Men's Rogaine vs Women's Rogaine) trying to find a difference and searching online before i realized it was total BS and that i was not going to grow a beard, or balls, if i used the cheaper Men's Rogaine.

If you get rogaine on your cheeks, you will grow a beard (probably a weird and wispy one cause you ain't cowering your face with rogaine on purpose twice a day, but it will appear) even as a woman, this is not a joke, also use gloves.

@@MedievalSolutions Yes, anyone using monoxidil (the active ingredient in Rogaine and many other hair growth solutions) should be careful with it and follow all the precautions listed in the information that comes with it, but it takes at least 3 months of daily use to promote hair growth so if you accidentally get some on your face once or twice, you're not going to start growing a beard. Also, it requires continuous use to keep working so if you DO start growing a beard, it will fall out after you stop using it.

@@StardustAshley probably because the active ingredient is helping out the hair follicle, which is where the hair grows from. If you stop using the product the hair follicle is unable to keep sustaining the hair strand it's been growing. The follicle will stop the growing phase and the hair will fall out. The product essentially isn't going to your hair but rather your hair follicle and you need to continually assist the hair follicle to keep the benefits to your hair.

PSA: Minoxidil is DEADLY for cats. Cats can die/become very sick after very minor exposures--for example, if they walk across a pillowcase that has minoxidil on it and then lick their paws, or if they touch any drops that have fallen on the bathroom floor. It's also dangerous for dogs.

For a while, I went to a barber to get my hair cut, because I was getting a mannish style. Luckily the woman barber didn't charge me more, as long as I wasn't getting feminine details added. I understand if they have to add this or soften that. Those little touches add up, but if it's just a straight-up masculine style, there shouldn't be any difference in price. It's worth making informed decisions, asking questions before committing, and standing up for yourself when you know you're right.

If your hair is thinning, please get a blood test to see if there’s an underlying cause. I’ve had thinning around my crown since my early 20’s due to folate, iron, and vitamin d deficiency. If you can get those folic acid 5g supplements get them. Get your protein and veggies in, get your sun shine on, use scalp scrub, clarifying shampoo, and, paraben/sls/silicone free products. I’m not even kidding when I say mine was really bad, the hair dresser tried to help with keratin and it didn’t do much. Gummy vitamins are nonsense and rarely have enough in them to do much if you’re deficient. Good luck ladies! Get them beautiful locks back!

I have been working with hair loss clients for 15 years. I am going to agree with you that Rogaine for men can be used by women. And yes, the pink tax is crap. However, more information needs to be given on how to use this product if you’re going to endorse using this product. Scalp prep is incredibly important. I.e. the correct shampoo and conditioner. Also, it will take 3 to 4 months before you see results. If you wish to stop taking it, you need to taper off. You could cause your hair to go into shock. It could also go into shock if you are not consistent with the product.

I just recently finished taking minoxidil and I want to warn you against it. Do your research and know that the hair growth is not permanent and plateaus after a while. Additionally, liquid minoxidil contains a chemical which cause intense skin irritation. Finally, if you ever decide to stop using minoxidil, about 3 months afterward your hair counts will be drastically less than before you began. My personal experience was that it worked for about 6 months and then tapered of and made my hair look very un even. Now, I only have peach fuzz in the areas that I was using minoxidil. I'm right at the three month mark after quitting as research predicts. I'm hopeful that it will start to grow back soon.

@@Xeeina-EXOL I wouldn’t call it breakage. What can happen is you’ll shed a lot the first few times, but that (from my understanding) is from the act of massaging the head, it loosens the hairs that are at the end of their life faster. That’s also why more come out when you shampoo. Of course it can break, that’s why you must use pressure but be gentle and go according to your hair type. It’s so worth it, and works wonders. Just remember to use a carrier oil as rosemary can be harsh alone. You can also do rosemary rinses after you shower that help!

It’s not worth it for many reasons. Even though my doctor told me it’s a bad idea for women to use rogain (hormones), I did it anyway. I did it for months, almost a year. My loss didn’t come back, but the excessive hair fall stopped. It gave me a false sense of reality. When I realized my doctor was right and I didn’t want to keep doing it for the rest of my life, I stopped. My hair loss came back with a vengeance. I would cry washing my hair for the loss. It was so hard emotionally to deal with and it would have been better to deal with it gradually. Y’all can do what you want, but I don’t recommend it.

Or just get some natural organic castor oil and and rosemary. Apply castor oil to scalp and massage it in and put on a shower cap the night before you wash your hair. For dry hair less washing more moisturizing and more scalp exfoliating!!! Get a shower brush or use a cheap plastic comb and massage or “scrape” scalp when you wash your hair and you will need to wash it thoroughly 2-3 times before applying (Rosemary water) it’s simple to make! Water& rosemary in a pot and steep like you would a tea bag. Pour the rosemary water through a strainer and you can also use a coffee filter to get out smaller bits. If you’re going to put it in a spray bottle, you do that you don’t clog the spray bottle sprayer. Spritz hair each day morning and night. You will notice thicker, fuller, stronger hair growing and it smells good too! P.S. It’s safe to put castor oil all over your entire body, including your eyelashes and your eyebrows. If you get castor oil in your eye, it’s OK it will not burn. In fact it’s good for your eyes!!! it will help your eyelashes to grow and your eyebrows as well. Also there are many other uses for caster oil and for rosemary as well!!!

Many also use a retinoid. They'll either use retinol or even tretinoin. Sunscreen alone won't help with breakouts or texture on skin. So maybe use a retinol serum once a night per week for 1 month then twice a week for 2 months and then 3 times a week for 3 months and slowly increase it. You could use a Retinaldehyde or bakuchiol serum instead because its normally less irritating. If you use retinol slowly and don't have very sensitive skin you should be fine. I have sensitive skin and haven't had any bad reactions from retinol. Dr Alexis Stephans or Steven's (not sure about the surname) has gorgeous skin and I think she said she was turning 40 but she literally looks 23 to me.

From talking to my dermatologist it depends on the person. Also what they use/application. I take oral minoxidil-activate ingredient in rogaine- which comes with a higher risk of an increase in hair everywhere (or unwanted places)because you aren’t targeting the application just to your scalp. If you do topical and are careful the risk is supposed to be incredibly low. I read of some people saying when they applied it it would get on the forehead area frequently and eventually they developed hair. As for the oral- I had PCOS and as a result hirsutism. I had a lot of laser hair removal done and was worried I would be the prime candidate for an increase in body/facial hair. 4 months and so far I’ve escaped it. Hope this helps

@elise8005 I did it until my eyebrows looked how I wanted them to. About 6-12 months. You only need like one or 2 drops on each eyebrow. So, three 3 bottles lasts you forever. How long you'll need to keep it up depends on how much damage you have to the follicles. I waxed every other week and plucked in between, religiously for 7 years. So, it took me almost a year to grow them back.
