I think they called hers cinnamon and sugar because as a natural redhead, hers was more pale brown and white than black and white like the salt and pepper look. I love the cinnamon and sugar description. I have some friends who are getting those colors now. I will tell them that name. I am salt and pepper now.

I recently got my hair cut. I had a modified, longer shag and I loved how it looked on me. I told the girl cutting my hair I wanted the exact same cut I had, just shorter for the hot weather. She gave me a freaking bob! I was pissed! I told the salon manager next time I came back only she and the girl who gave me the shag were allowed to touch my hair for future visits. If you don't know how to do a certain style, own up to it like an adult instead of just butchering someone's hair.

Back in my punk rock days I changed my hair about once every week or two. Not always with bleach, but bleach was pretty common. I learned early on that low volume developer was the only way to go (after a time or two shaving my head). Once my BF told me we were going to a really fun concert, but he didn't tell me where. I had never done totally white hair, and I had never done turquoise either. My haircut was a buzz cut grown out to about 3/4 inch, plus face framing bangs and chops. So I decided the short part would be turquoise and the bangs would be white. I bleached my bangs 4 times that day with only 10 volume developer. I don't know if you can still get it that low, but that's what I used back in the day. The last time out of the shower I panicked, because my hairline had moved back about an inch and a half. Totally freaking out thinking my hair was just gone, like vaporized. Until it dried, and I discovered that it wasn't gone. I had been so freaked out that I hadn't even reached up to touch it, otherwise I would have realized. It was not gone, it had been bleached to the point that the hair was completely clear when wet. When it dried it was the most clean white I had ever seen on hair. I slathered that shit up with the most thick hair mask I could find in my cupboard, and I left it there. The whole time I was dying the rest of my hair turquoise. While I ate dinner. While I got ready for bed. Right before bed I did a quick rinse with really cold water and slathered another mask on, covered and went to bed. My hair did not break off and die (surprisingly). I actually had the coolest looking bright turquoise hair with stunning white and reflective shiny bangs. It was so cool. Until BF took me to the concert, at the freaking San Jose Sharks arena. Turquoise and white? Ugh. Not punk rock, just an overzealous Sharks fan. I don't even like hockey... The hair looked rad though. With all the color change and bleaching I did I only used non permanent color, and was using a hair mask probably three to four times a week. Only used very mild shampoo, and often would just use water to rinse the gel out of my hair instead of a full wash (I used plant based water soluble gel, and if it didn't need to hold well I would just use conditioner instead of gel.) If you are going to abuse your hair with frequent color changes, do yourself a favor and try to pamper your hair the best you can.

The first 2 haircuts were awesome and I love the semi permanent color on the lady with long hair. And I think for most people the answer is to go to a professional first if you're looking for a huge change in your hairstyle or color.

It is perfect for her. Her hairline goes back very far almost giving a receding look. The short cut eliminates that and shows off her stunning face. Alot of upkeep but easy, inexpensive and what grows out will always be healthy. I have a feeling she will become tempted and add a color. 😊

Oh no!! That poor woman who did the ponytail cut with such thick thick hair! They really need to make extra videos for women like this if they going to keep making them, which they will. I use one of these type videos myself BUT someone else places the ponies and does the cutting. I've also got wavy hair which covers up the choppines that I'm sure is there. In my youth (1960's) I asked a girl about her hair I liked and it turned out to be her hair growing out and not being dyed for months. She did look at me like I was crazy.😊

The last girl looked nice as a strawberry blonde. She should have kept that color or used 9.4 level hair dye (or 3/4 cassia obovata and 1/4 henna) to give that color a nice boost. I disagree. The women working in the salon new exactly what the situation was. To bleach it again knowing her hair could be fried rather than suggest she come in or use some conditioning treatments than return in a week would have been the responsible way to go.
