The way this started was Amy approaching Lzzy when they were on tour together in 2012 and asking to come out and sing backup on this song. They ended up doing it as a duet for the rest of the tour and then when Halestorm decided to include it on their 'Reimagined' EP they invited Amy to come record it finally

I was going to explain it basically just like this lol so thank you!! Spot on truth right there.
@spitfiresoul6983 жыл бұрын
wait. break in is an original song by halestorm( album the strange case of) so either i misunderstand you or are you saying that Amy approached lzzy and asked her to sing backup on her own song? Or do you mean just on the 2012 tour that Amy thought f*ck it we're touring with halestorm so let's do this song. what am I missing here?
@forsinain49463 жыл бұрын
@@spitfiresoul698 Yeah, I mean Amy asked to sing on it herself, not that she asked Lzzy to sing backup. That would be a power move and a half lol
@nathanknipmeyer21893 жыл бұрын
The Carnival of Madness tour of 2012 was headlined by Halestorm/Chevelle/Evanescence. Amy Lee of Evanescence barely knew who Halestorm was at the time, I DO BELIEVE. Then Amy watched her perform and she was blown away. So they became rock goddess friends and this happened.

And, having seen a couple fan recorded vids of this duet, the execution was awesome. Lzzy solo on keyboards through the long beginning of this song, then, Amy strolls out and starts her part of the duet. Flawless victory. Fans went ape shit.

Lzzy and Amy have both been doing this for decades...both true professionals. It was Amy that approached Lzzy and offered to do the back up vocals for this song. Lzzy told her she could have half the song...and Amy said no....she just wanted to sing harmony for her. Both women are class acts.

Thank you for reacting to this, I’m glad you enjoyed it! They both have incredible voices. Amy and Lzzy are good friends and also have massive amounts of professional respect and admiration for each other. Amy joined Halestorm on stage to perform this song with Lzzy when they were touring together in 2012, and the fans have been asking for a studio version ever since... and now we finally got it. 😊 I would love to see you react to more of both of them in the future.

"Break In" was a song from Halestorm's second album. When Halestorm and Evanescence went on tour together in 2012, Amy joined Lzzy on stage for this song and made it a duet, kind of on the spot. For 8 years, fans were begging for these two to record this in the studio. Finally, for Halestorm's "Reimagined" album, they recorded it. And it will go down as one of the best songs ever, IMO. Great reaction, you two!

Lzzy and Amy are the best of friends so I'm sure that there is a familiarity there. However, I'm also sure that while there is a "star struck" moment every time that they sing together, they both know where they both need to be, vocally, to blend together, and/or contrast each other............perfectly.

I watch you guys on my laptop with earbuds so I hear every little bit of the songs... Lzzy is a great singer, probably the best female in rock/metal right now. She's also an amazing person as are the rest of Halestorm. In 2010 they met a musician who was paralyzed from the waist down and unable to preform anymore and befriended me. We've been friends ever since and I have gone to see them preform almost 40 times before this damn pandemic brought live preformances to a hault. Thankfully we keep in touch through social media. You guys should check out her preformance with Eric Church at the CMA's. They preformed His song "That's Damn Rock & Roll" and she proceeds to blow the roof off the place in truely classic Lzzy Hale Style.

Lzzy and Amy are amazing musicians and even more more amazing Human Beings. I've been blessed to meet both of them, individually about 3-4 years apart. and they are SO genuinely and authentically beautiful people. Lzzy, being from Penn, vs Amy from Cali, I would LOVE to see how Lacey Strum (Flyleaf) would match/meld in a heavier song. They all three are amazing singers. Lzzy echoes Parts of Pat Benetar. Amy is very much like Ann Wilson (Heart) actually the both have Ann Wilson-like traits. Amy is so versatile, doesn't matter if she's pairing up with Shaun Morgan (Seether(, Jonathan Davis (Korn) Her vocal range and flexibility is astounding. . Lzzy has a niche' , a firm place that is uniquely "Lzzy" and no one can match. Butt these 2 powerhouses together??!!?? PLEASE! so epic

Amy Lee does a nice collaboration with the Japanese band the Wagakki band for Evanescence most famous song. Lzzy has numerous collaborations with many artists. Would love for Lzzy and Floor to have a collaboration together as well with Lzzy being arguably the best female rock vocalist and Floor being arguably the best female metal vocalist or atleast the most versatile female metal vocalist.
