Halloween 🎃 This is by far one of the best horror movies of all time!!! Its an absolute masterpiece. A mix of incredible acting, phenomenal horror and a soundtrack so legendary it send shivers down your spine as soon as you hear it.

@@VindalooJim You're not supposed to take it that seriously.- The girl yelling "Speed kills!" at Michael's car.... The kid trying to creep out the girl - and ends up freaking out himself... Michael standing there with a sheet over his head, and the glasses on top. The girl moaning down the phone to Jamie as she dies. This is intentional humour - don't be so simple minded.

Not a masterpiece. But a good idea / concept that could have been made better. The victims death faces were pure cheese. The spanner in the hand breaking the car window was silly. Also a lot of the usual illuminutty symbolism crap.

The first Halloween movie is (in addition to the best in the saga) the one that starts the boom in horror films of the Slasher subgenre. That feeling of being watched all the time, on the lookout for any dangerous person, is very well captured in this film. Without a doubt a great classic and one of the best horror movies.

Technically The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1973 started it, Halloween elevated it. But the one that start the Slasher craze was Peeping Tom 1960

The tracking shot of Laurie approaching the Wallace house near the end of the movie is almost shot for shot like Lila approaching the Bates house near the end of Psycho. Jamie Lee Curtis is Psycho star Janet Leighs daughter, and Dr Loomis was named after the character Sam Loomis in Psycho. I know there will probably be a lot of comments saying the same thing, but whatever lol.

Thanks for the reactions, ladies. All looking gorgeous. When this movie was released to the theaters in 1978, it was unique and scary at that time. However, many more movies since then have come out that are far more frightening, and the movie audience has become desensitized now so that Halloween doesn't have the same "scare" factor that it once did. You ladies showed that in your reactions.

This movie more than any other really started the whole “teen slasher” genre that really took off in the 80s with movies like Friday 13th. I was never into those movies really, but this one was almost mandatory viewing at Halloween time back when I was a kid.

Ladies John Carpenter, director of original Halloween stated that he had the idea for this iconic movie. Many years ago, John went to college in West Kentucky. His class went to a local mental institution. He has seen some of most serious mentally ill patients including little boy no older than 13 with creepy soulless eyes staring out. Kid was emotionless. John stated his character, Michael Myers has blackest eyes.....Devil's eyes based on this kid.

Trivia. The Lyndsey actress is Paris Hilton's aunt in real life. This movie is timeless. A classic. Two of the greatest things about this is how he always walks slow an deliberate and always catches up and also that you never know why he is like he is. There was not an incident to incited his transformation into killing his sister and being a psychopath. You're left wondering what's in this dude's head that's driving him.

This movie the Dr name is Sam Loomis in Scream there is a character Billy Loomis and in about 4 or 5 other scary/horror movies there are characters with the last name Loomis. In this movie Laurie tells the kids to go to the Machenzie's... In Scream in the opening scene Casey BECKER's dad Mr. BECKER tells his wife to go to the Mackenzies. Her mother, Janet Leigh starred in Famed director, Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 Psycho. Cunningham tried to copy the idea (and many other things) a couple of years later in the bad and vulgar movie "Friday the 13th." A simple but very solid story, good performances, a terror based above all on tension (as good horror should be) and not on gore or shocks achieved with sound hits, and a wonderful soundtrack, composed and performed, like most of his films, by Carpenter himself. Along with "The thing", the best film by this director. A curiosity: Mike Myers' mask is actually a mask of Captain Kirk from Star Trek (William Shatner) painted white. If you look closely, you can even recognize the actor's features🤣

People aren’t logical. I just saw a true crime case video. The husband hears a band he checks outside a dude is dressed in all black he thinks it’s a cop he says show me your badge the dude raises his gun and shoots him. The mom and daughter here the gun shot they don’t call the police or leave the house they hide in the bathroom and lock the door. Of course the killer comes opens the door shoots the mom and kidnaps the daughter

I can't believe you edited out the two best parts of the movie. Early on, when Michael was standing on the sidewalk staring at the girl, then casually walked behind the hedges. Then a short while later, when she was upstairs and saw him standing in the back yard behind the clothes line, staring up at her in the window. Both were super-creepy, but neither were included in your reactions.
