Halloween ‘18 was such a wonderful companion piece to the original, and to the series in general with all of the nods to the other movies. However, HKills and HEnds really dropped the ball in terms of quality and keeping true to the story. They felt like continuations of Halloween as told by your super drunk/stoned friend who’s rambling about the depth of a subject for twenty minutes, only to abandon it mid-thought and get the stoner giggles.

This is my absolute favorite of the Halloween movies. Not only is it a truly great slasher film it also turns the slasher genre on its head because Laurie Strode goes full Sarah Conner and turns the tables on Michael. My favorite part is her daughter played by the amazing Judy Greer lures Michael towards her making him think she is helpless and then she says “Gotcha” and shoots his bitch ass.

I like the movie, but it always felt a little bit inconsistent. This is a direct sequel to the first one, so the story is, that Michael killed his sister 55 years ago and then 4 people 40 years ago, was caught and is now in "prison" for 40 years. But Laurie acts like all the other movies kinda did happen, meaning he escaped or got away continiously and murdered dozens of people. PTSD is real, but acting like Michael is out there or will come for her although he is locked up is a little bit too far fetched. And why would he come for her, if he is not her brother? Why does she live in Haddonfieldand not anywhere else? And how can a 61 year old man do all these things after 40 years in "prison" on a prison diet with (probably) no access to fitness equipment? Does he do push-ups in his cell?😆
