Why do modders always insist on adding elites to the covernant in halo 3 mods

Because there were Elites in the Loyalist Covenant. You see, Religion isn't something easy to shake off. Though Brutes assumed the role of the Prophet's security and main force, a considerable number of Elites were part of the Covenant. Also, they are fun to fight and benefit the sandbox. The Kilo-5 Trilogy covers that if you are up for a good ol'read.
