It also has a fundamental problem: It provides the biggest advantage in a situation it's worthless in. How can that be? Best place to have full armor is urban warfare. But the weight of every viable heavy suit put before the military so far is such that floors would collapse under them, meaning you basically can't use them in urban warfare. We need some lighter materials, or tougher building standards.

i’m pretty sure in the lore it’s explained that emile puts a scratch on his helmet for each confirmed Covie kill after his brother was killed in the spartan program. the scratches also do not hinder his vision since spartan visors were designed and programmed to not be affected by any exterior damage unless it penetrates the visor. so emile actually still has the same FOV as he would have without the scratches
