I'm more partial to the idea that Ancient Humans were not actually augmented, but were naturally like Spartans. This would explain why the Forerunners feared them so much and why they worked so hard to devolve them after the firing of Halo. They feared the humans because they possessed naturally what the Forerunners could only achieve through augmentation.

Humans may well have had the potential to claim the mantle or to at least become the strongest race. Their technology seems to have been on par with the Forerunners and a couple other races who had similar levels.

@@omartorres5688 Many things, In the evolution of humanity in only 6 million years , the humanity learnt to achieve 10% of their brain, and the ancient humans had more than 50 million years to evolve, they even had artificial process to accelerate evolution, even if they didn't had used the process they would have achieved to control more than 50% of their brain, and we all know that intelligence with evolution doesn't change like the past, the intelligence of a species doesn't only enhance by the evolution but also accelerate, in my opinion, about 5000 years a single low IQ person would exceed the genius level of Einstein by far, and we are talking about millions of years, probably be like God's of something, and have to physically have to stronger and bigger than every intelligent species in halo universe to contain the big brain and fight physically, you can say they would be like God emperor from 40k

Of course they would have genetic and technological augmentation far in advance of the UNSC, the Ancient Humans had to fight against combat-mutated Forerunner Warrior servants for over a millennium, and while their armor tech was inferior to that of the Forerunners, Ancient Human weapons could bypass Forerunner defenses with ease, as the Didact said himself in the books

Thats the same concept of the elites having their own spartan which is that one sangheili supreme admiral who stood like 11 ft tall and was ex commed by the prophets for he was such a threat to them. I believe the ancient humans probably had their own variants of the spartans which would probably be around 10-11 ft tall as well

@@RAGEINYOUTH a forerunner warrior servant was average on 13 ft tall, and what we can see on halo 4 terminal cut scene where Librarian was talking about the wisdom of humanity about the flood with didact, there was two pod tubes on that room side by side on exact camera angle, on left the pod contained the dead 13 ft tall warrior servant and on the right the pod contained a human which was even more build in mass in compared to the warrior servant, I can say that the humans were average about 12-13 ft tall average

Not cousin - they were both created by Precursors, which tested their creations and destroyed "failed experiments". That is major reason Forerunners rebelled and destroyed Precursors (which favored Humanity).

And that they used that species to make two more that ended up being humanity and the forerunners. So odds are they spliced DNA from their previous creation into there new two creations. I would say their infantry And soldiers were far more stronger than forerunner warrior servants due to the fact that the war lasted for thousand years while forerunners were supreme in naval warfare, if the ancient human infantry or boarding party wasn't strong enough to take on multiple odd numbered warrior servants then I don't see how they lasted for thousand years

According to me the Spartan program made the humans evolve to next generation of mankind but certainly not jump start the evolution straight to ancient humans, According to laws of evolution you can't jump start the evolution of milion years in some cybernetic augmentation procedure, didact single handedly killed 4 Spartan 2s instantly and literally killed the blue team, and in human forerunner war the humans fought trillions of warrior servants over thousand years in already weakened out numbered state, ancient humans were definitely stronger than the Spartan 2s by far, Even in ground battle in charrum hakkor it took trillions of warrior servants with individually millions of drones to take down the humans in 3 years, if we swap all ancient humans to Spartan 2s and give them all accessories of ancient humans, I don't see Spartans capable of holding the ground even for 1 week.

From what I remember Charum Hakkor lasted over 53 years against the Forerunners, but Mythos states that the Didact and Prometheans were pounding it in vain for only 3 years until it fell... perhaps the 3 years is only counting the time were the Didact and all the Prometheans were fully committed to it?

Well Ancient humans definitely did something just like that spartan program experiment to evolve their species cause their technology was millions years advance than modern UNSC tech, their physical mass was equal to the frickin Forruners, so they Were definitely close or even above 3 meters in hight, and surprisingly they were the strongest rivals ever faced by the Forruners, well I can guess that the human Forruner war was so intense we literally can't imagine of, humanity become an interplanetary species in a mere milion years from the tree, and the ancient humans rivaled the species which was about 50milions years advance, the species which can erase every life form in the universe with an blink of an eye, their infantry division was so powerful that one could easily destroy our homeplanet with their weapons, I think Spartan needs more steps to follow to become capable of ancient humans

I do like this theory that the standard ancient human soldiers are on the level of Spartan-IIs. However, we saw on Halo 4 and read through the novels of how powerful Forerunner prometheans are. I am expecting that ancient humans also have their own augmented super soldiers. The devolution does make sense why Halo modern Humanity is very weak compared to the other races. Like a lowly unggoy can still kill a modern human with his/her bare hands. Only through augmentation can humans do the same thing.

HEY @Installation00 , I have a video idea that I want to share and that you could maybe expand upon!! So, to my understanding, the "Geas" within humanity is somewhat like an inherited genetic subconsciousness, in other words, their ancestors spirits. The Librarian (in Halo 4) would describe humanities unlocked genetic potential to be hidden within our "Gene Song". Given that A, C, G, and T are the "letters" of the DNA code; they stand for the chemicals (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T), respectively, that make up the nucleotide bases of DNA. Although Halo is a fictional universe with lore and science we don't have, this is the something that is similar to real life. In music, we have the "musical alphabet" letters A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Maybe the science of genetics in Halo is sound or harmonically based. After all, the bible even says: “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host.”

Well, time-dilation tech is canon (the isodidact aging the Primordial by eons a second in its timelock prison) and the Domain has over a 100 billion years of Precursor wisdom (the universe is only 14-something billion years old, so the Precursors should have knowledge from other universes and multiversal travel there if they manage to exist that long) so theoretically the Ancient Humans could have fled from the Forerunners outside the galaxy, locked themselves in giant time-dilation bubbles, and advanced by billions of years while only moments passed in the real universe. Plus that Precursor knowledge could lead to otherversely powers. So yes, theoretically possible.

I actually have an Oc that played into this, he was an ancient human that had been part of a sect that left during the down fall of the Human Empire and had been put into a form of stasis. After the millions of years in this stasis outside the Milky way he had drift back into human space by happenstance and been found by Oni. After discovering what he was, Oni gave him to Halsey who used his Genetics as the baseline of the Spartan II Augmentations. When the Covenant War started he was awoken in order to help train the Spartan II's and then was given the agreement of if he serves in the UNSC Military he would be allowed to be free.

I see that ancient humans are extremely similar to forerunners. It seems to me that their technology was similar and that both races had many different forms which might associate that ancient humans had some kind of caste system like the forerunners had.

It was likely closer to a Stratocracy by the time of the Human Forerunner War, since the novels say that many military positions also doubled as government ones, using Yprin Yprikushma's job as Chief Political and Morale Commander as an example. Also, the ANcient Humans and Forerunners hated each other, with the AH seeing the Forerunners as arrogant maniacal tyrants and supremacists whereas the Forerunners viewed humans as violent barbaric animals who should have stayed non-sentient. The AH wouldn't have wanted to copy the culture of the Forerunners, so I guess something more like a meritocratic government was in place.

Personally I subscribe to the idea that ancient humans naturally evolved to the levels of spartans over time meaning that current humanity in halo could still evolve to that level and the spartan programs where just a jump forward made out of necessity

According to me the Spartans were way inferior to a ancient human warrior, those warrior killed Forruner warrior servants probably way more stronger than the wrecked didact in halo 4 who was totally playing with the strongest living Spartan, They stopped the unlimited reighn of forruner warrior servants for 53 years with just few thousand soldier, so you can feel how strong they were according to this feat, Spartan 2's would be like their babies

what if ONI knew about the halo rings and forerunners before the covenant chased down the pillar of autumn to installation 04? what if they had actually discovered some forerunner tech and ruins and used the knowledge they acquired from them to create the spartan IIs? i mean, i find it a little absurd that humanity was suddenly able to create these hyperlethal killing machines that are so strong compared to the infantry of a much more advanced enemy, the covenant, what if the spartan II program was actually based on forerunner knowledge and technology? and ONI just never disclosed it? in fact, we already know that some forerunner tech was already present on earth, what if ONI had found more than what was disclosed in halo 2?

Be cool lore wise if this is what the Librarian is doing. Spartans are artificially what humans used to be naturally. Humanity wasn't just regressed we got downgraded biologically, and essentially have to take the long way back and a few shortcuts. It is weird that in the galaxy the other species all seem to have some advantage over humans, it's either strength, speed, stamina, or lifespan or a combination. Something about nearly every other species outdoes us. Even the Unggoy naturally live longer. If Spartan's are the next step then it's a step towards a mirror, ever coming closer to yourself. Spartan augmentation tries to undo that essentially, some people the genes aren't that dominant. In some they are like 117, genetically I guess you have to know what to look for. Maybe in learning about ancient human biology the UNSC or ONI can leap the program forward to awaken dormant genes in anyone. And maybe not have to cut people open so much.

Maybe ancient humans are superior.... they might have naturally evolved enough to be more stronger , faster and intelligent than the Spartan IIs (with suit) and might have small special abilities coz they have evolved like 55 million years or so....
