As a human named Penelope, I feel terrible for this poor little namesake of mine. I also want to mention Crackle, and how he grew at an odd later age in his life. I had a severly stunted little girl named Snickers. She was the most hyper, insane, and terrified hamster who made the biggest, most shocking recovery. She became calm, trusting and cuddly, when she use to scream at me and hiss and kick and bite. Anyway, at over a year, she randomly got bigger. She wasn't full sized but she got almost there. So yeah, i realize stunted hamsters tend to do that.

Thank you for sharing this story especially talking about the cage, i dont have this cage but i have put in a new big wheel for my Ham ham and the top was close to one of his platforms so it made me realise that i needed to move the platform away from the wheel xx I also think some of the blame has to lay with the owner for not doing their own research, but you could argue that asking the employee is thier research, but a quick internet search or opening a hamster book would disprove anything thing that employee said!!

Small cages (even though they were big cages, they were all small), very little bedding, and some just house several hamsters together. we got out mouse in a moldy kaytee cage without any hides. He's in a 20g aquarium with great bedding and chews and hides. He's a super sweet, hand tamed boy but he has impacted (severely crooked) teeth so they have to be clipped often :(

he also loves to get pet by his ears, he'll lean into it and close his eyes and if you stop he'll grab your finger with his paws and pulls it back

I read the title as: Hamsters don’t eat guinea pigs. My dumb ass was like, “Yeah, of course they don’t!”

Hey :) I’ve been searching everywhere for how much mice need to eat and everyone has a different opinion.. I know you have mice. How much do they eat in a day?
@honeynavi38924 жыл бұрын
It depends on the mice really, I think! I usually leave a large bowl of mouse mix in with mine, and they only sometimes manage to eat it all within a week, since they dont tend to hoard as much as hamsters from my experience, it depends on the mouse/amount of mice really! :)

My male eats about 1.5 teaspoons. The main rule is that mice need food available 24/7, so having full bowl is an option.

The nick could be from her doing the same thing the dead hamster did, but she was luckily able to escape. Just a thought, it's unlikely.
